My mother had breast cancer. Luckily, she lived but not without a price. He will have to, most likely, undergo chemo therapy, which can cause him to lose his hair and, rarely, his teeth. I also lost an aunt, who was more like a mother, to pancreatic cancer. Akward as it may be, depending on his type of cancer, his days may be numbered...try to bond with him. Also, those dreams and your intuition of the danger to the musical should, under no circumstances, not be ignored. Dreams may be telling the future...no one knows for sure. But...it seems almost like a promise that something bad is going to happen...and I most apologize for bringing nothing but somber news! Hopefully things will not turn out as bad as they were for me and that your dreams prove false.
