So, here's a chapter two that used to be part of chapter one that I extended and made better and basically just made up as I went along. Hope it's decent.
Title: Like a Dream
Chapter: 2/4 (I think)
Pairing: Peter/Edmund
Rating: PG-13
Disclaimer: I do not own. Though I'm in the market for a Pevenslie brother, if you're selling.
Summary: It was wrong. It was beyond wrong, now that Peter thought about it. it. It was downright disgusting. Because Peter Pevenslie didn't want to be like that. When Peter finds himself lusting after the forbidden, there's little he can do except hope for the best. But what happens if the forbidden isn't at all?
Warnings: manlove, incest, in future chapters. in this one? vague allusions to wet dreams.
A/N: Pretty AU. An early work. I'm not all that proud of it. But nor am I that upset with it. I just wanted to post something. O, N TTLY UNEDITED.
Peter awoke the following morning well rested and in a generally good mood. Until he remembered the conversation he'd shared with his younger brother not five hours before. He felt himself cringe at the memory. No one likes being caught in a wet dream by their younger brother, but the thought that it was Ed, the suddenly grown up sixteen year old who was the object of Peter's current lustings... well, that only made it all worse.
Peter shook his head, doing his best to will thoughts of his younger brother out of his head. He wanted things to go back to the way they were, back to normal. And the only time he really felt all that normal was when he was training. At first, he'd found it tedious, all the little details of movement that his sword trainer had taught him, but now he found the ruthless exercise an enjoyment.
And if it got his mind off Edmund, then all the better.
Peter reached one of the courtyards of the castle just as he was buckling his belt, having rushed from his room before wrapping it around his waist. But before he could slide the leather through the final loop, he heard Edmund's familiar voice on the other side of the open area, tucked between two trees. Peter spotted Lucy standing next to him, the look on her face disbelieving. "You're sure?"
"Of course I'm sure. I know what I heard."
"You're positive?"
"Yes, I'm positive, Lu. Do I need to give you every little detail again?"
"Please don't. I'm still in shock at hearing you moan your own name the first time."
"Trust me, it's weird when he does it too."
"You've heard him more than once? Why is this the first time I've heard about it?"
"I don't know! I guess it's just weird talking about it."
"I can understand that... but tell me, is it really that bad?"
"What are you saying?"
"I"m saying that maybe this is for the best! After all, you're..."
"Straight as a rainbow?"
"I was going to say the same way, but... whatever. I mean, you're the poster child for closet homosexuality, Edmund. Why does it matter so much?"
"He's my brother!"
"Tumnus was your friend, but I heard about you cornering him in the corridor."
"And then he left Cair Paravel, and he hasn't come back!"
"Are you trying to tell me you've never thought of Pete like that?"
Edmund was silent for a long minute. Peter thought he saw him shifting from foot to foot nervously. His fists clenched, willing his younger brother to reply.
"Well? Have you or haven't you?"
"I did once or twice… before you, you know, Tumnus."
"Why didn't you tell Peter?"
"Look at the way you all reacted! I didn't want everyone to hate me like that."
"I guess that's a good point. But it never disgusted you?"
"No."
"Then why does it bother you when you know he's thinking the same thing?"
Peter gulped, watching as his younger brother didn't answer. To be honest, he wasn't surprised that he'd confided in Lucy about this whole thing, she was always supportive of anyone in the family, and any choices they made, always with the argument that she loved them. Telling Susan, however, would have been a mistake. The thing that Peter noted the most, however, was the openness that his youngest siblings shared with one another. He was almost jealous. Almost.
He did his best not to blush at the thought of moaning Edmund's name in his sleep, but the fact that Edmund was there to hear it only made it worse, once again. Peter was brought back to reality when he heard his brother's voice once again.
"I... I guess it never did bother me."
Peter's heart was in his throat. Not only did Edmund know, but in some part of his mind, it didn't bother him. And sooner or later, no matter how embarrassing the moment would be, they would have to talk about it.
Hopefully, Peter mused, the day was still far away.

There's chapter two! This used to be attached to the end of chapter one, but I got lazy and took it off after rewriting it and discovering that this stood alone quite nicely as a chapter. Once again, comments are love.
