Nevaeh stood central within the crowd, her pixish height causing her to be overlooked by the others as they collided with her in their panicked state. This, however, had the surprising effect of keeping her upright as the walls around were shook by aftershock after aftershock ( ... )

"Reece, we've got major influx issues. Survivors are pouring in..." Jason yelled over the crowd. "There's been a hallway collapse in West Sector... a few soldiers trapped."

Reece's eyes darted around the crowd. "Start moving them towards the bunks. Keep them orderly and take the seriously injured to medlab," he ordered and Jason nodded, going to grab whoever he could to help.

"People, listen up!" Reece tried again, before getting frustrated and standing on a chair. "HEY! If you want to live, you listen to me!"

The crowd started to quieten... at least for the moment.

Nevaeh sighed, glad for the pause in the noise. She took a deep breath, rubbing her temple, other than the one bloodied; the source of the ache confusing her as her free arm wrapped around her stomach.

"My name is Reece. I'm a captain in the human army," he called out, "Right now, I'm your commanding officer and I need you all to calm down. We've got a lot of injured people in here and more coming..." He looked down for a brief moment. "Reports from the headquarters are telling us that the attack is widespread."

Sudden shouts erupted from the crowd. "What about our families? Our kids?!"

"I... I'm sorry," Reece replied, "You can't go looking for them." He remembered his own friends... his mates that he had been laughing with earlier that day.

Nevaeh began to move toward the front, the instructions of 'crowd control' being buffered by those surrounding her.
