11/04 Atlanta aka my story of winning two m&gs in 5 minutes and doing the awkward turtle with Patd
This is super long (I’m not kidding, but I think it’s worth the read) so I’m going to post it on my live journal, fake cut obviously. Videos and Pictures are linked/posted in the order in the story that they happened so they aren’t all at the bottom, just so you know.

The beginning is a summary of what happened, at paragraph 3 is when I start in on the epicness that the day was.
We got to Gwinnett Center Arena around 7am yesterday morning, the reason because I didn’t have meet and greet and my bff had it. We were hoping to find Zack and talk to him about letting us both in meet and greet, also because they gave out EE wrist band to the first 40 people in live starting at 10am. Long story short we waited around until a man came out and said that they weren’t handing out EE bands for Rock Band, so we go to leave and this lady says that her daughter told her to tell us that they are outside the venue giving out EE bands, needless to say I was not thrilled that I had to walk back and get mine. Anywho, we end up forgetting the tickets in the car, I was originally like 5th in line, and after I went back and got the tickets I was 20th for EE.
We left the venue, because they said that we had to leave the property until noon, and went to pick a friend and her sister up from their hotel. So at noon we headed back to the venue.
Around fourish a women from the venue came out and said that meet and greet winners were suppose line up at the box office so my friend and I went over there with the hopes that Zack would let me in with her because we had a super secret gift for him as bribery to let me in. I didn’t want to assume that he would let me in so I went back to the EE line and told her to call me after she gave him the “gift” and let me know what he said about letting me in. I honestly wasn’t that worried about getting m&g anymore because I already met them in April, I mean yeah I would have loved to meet them again but I wasn’t going to stress myself out too much
So as I was standing in the EE line another woman comes out and is like “oh hey guess what guys? The first 20 of you in line get meet and greet with all the bands” I seriously FLIPPED OUT. About the time I was getting ready to put that wrist band on, the phone in my pocket vibrates and it was my bff, she started telling me that I had won meet and greet for ndp. Her exact quote from what Zack said was, “He said it was awesome and Paige was like "So can our friends come to the m&g?" and he said "Absolutely!" and was like still staring at the blanket. And I couldn't tell if he was being sarcastic or not so I was like "...seriously?" and he said "Hell yes they can come! Where are they?" so we said you were in the other line and he was like "get em over here!" so we called you guys.” Wondering what the gift was, well here it is.
If you can't tell what it says, it's a Guns N' Roses specially made jumbo throw cover.
She told me later that he seriously flipped a shit over the blanket, and after he said we could get in that he turned to everyone else and said, "remember, bribery DOES NOT work.... unless it's as awesome as this." So I was trying to decide which m&g I wanted to go to, I ended up deciding on going to the northern downpour (note: I am a member of ndp) I started running over to the m&g line, then I saw another girl from ndp who didn’t have m&g so I gave her the wrist from the first m&g and was like HAVE FUN MAN.
Dang this post is long , I haven’t even gotten to the good stuff yet.
So next, we stood in line FOREVER waiting to meet the guys, and finally he takes us way far down these stairs to the signing room and gives us the speech. I can’t remember exactly when he was interrupted but the guys interrupted him twice during his speech, the first time, Ryan just got on the radio and said "Ryan to Zack." and then when Zack tried to answer he didn't say anything so then some dude came and got Zack. Then after he came back he was like "Ok where was I before i was so RUDELY interrupted by Mr. Ross? idk how he keeps getting a radio, he just seems to wake up and get one", the second time Brendon or it could have been Jon got the radio and asked how much longer it was going to be, and Zack was like “5 more minutes", so then they didn't say anything and Zack was like "...is that what you wanted to know?" and they said something like "yes, thank you!"
He gave us the speech that he gives everyone about personal boundaries and acting like we’re young ladies. He told us the needle in the sharpie story as well as the cookie story. (also, might I just add this speech was literally five minutes when I had m&g in April, it lasted for SERIOUSLY 20 minutes this time) I had heard the cookie story before but never like he told it, he was saying how there were hair roots as well as her FLESH (he said it had to have been from her pulling her hair out) baked in the cookies and that he had eaten 3 of them before he realized anything was wrong with them.
So FINALLY, he brings the guys in and they start signing things for people. My turn comes up (keep in mind that I got m&g at the last minute) and I set my water bill on the table for Spencer to sign, he just looked at me and I was like it’s my water bill I got m&g last minute and this was all I had on me, so he just laughed and Jon looked over at it and started laughing also. Then I get to Brendon and it went like this.
Brendon: -stares extremely hard at my water bill-
Me: -explains about getting m&g last minute-
Brendon: -laughs and signs- that’s a REALLY high water bill
Me: haha yeah.
Last was Ryan and I explained to him just like I did the other three.
Ryan: That’s a pretty high water bill, you must use a lot of water.
Me: -laughs- yeah.
He and Zack were saying something about how high my water bill was whenever I was walking off, but I couldn’t hear what they said, so idk.
The water bill/receipt that I had signed.
We got back into line to have our picture made, because I came in with my friend we took out picture together, so while she was handing Zack my camera and putting our purses down I talked to the guys about how I wanted to do the picture (it was jen’s idea though). You really have to talk quick haha.
Me: hey guys we should all do awkward turtle hands.
The guys: -blank stares-
Brendon: I don’t know what that is.
So I showed them how to do awkward turtles hands, and yes it was as epic as it sounds.
Brendon started laughing so hard.
Brendon: This is so awesome.
Me: -smiles-
Everyone: -does awkward turtle hands-
Northern Downpour Members: GO NICOLE!!! -hoots and hollers-
(I don't think people actually thought that I was going to get them to do it)
Then Zack counted to three and took the picture.
Jon (to my friend Jen): You guys just tricked us didn’t you?
HONESTLY, they LEGIT had NO IDEA wtf awkward turtle meant, and I think Jon thought that we had them do something dirty, Zack said something that implied that we were making fun of them which we totally weren't we just thought it was a really cute idea
.
My friend went to get my camera and while she was getting I showed Brendon how to make awkward turtles babies, which set him back into a fit of giggles. No seriously, I thought he was going to pee his pants he seemed that excited and found it that funny. I also love how Ryan made his turtle swim LOOOL
And might I add that they are SO SMALL in person, I know people are giving Spencer shit saying that he is chubbs and has a pedostache, but he looks REALLY thin in person.

PS. If you want to use my m&g pic for ANYTHING just let me know, because I have found my last m&g in a lot of places and I find it REALLY creepy that people have my m&g pic and havent asked to use it (icons, stuff like that)I want to be credited as it being my pic is all I'm saying really. I don't mind you using it.
I took a video of the guys leaving meet and greet, which includes 10 total seconds haha and ends with Brendon getting in a wheel chair.
So finally he let us up into the arena, I had floor tickets I couldn’t where I was on the floor, so we all just decided to sit in seats, which might I add totally pwned EVERY floor show I’ve been to. I could see SO well.
So concert review of the bands.
The Cab
They are so amazing live. This was my first time seeing them after being a fan for what seems like forever and a day. Singer didn’t do so hot vocally, and I could have done without him grinding the floor, humping the air, and groping himself. However, they had such an immense energy to them that it almost surpassed that of Panic. Ian is a beast on guitar. That boy has soo much talent.
Plain White Ts.
We went to get food so we missed part of their set. They were decent. Their live show seemed to be lacking something honestly. I’m not saying they aren’t good, because I really enjoy listening to them.
In the middle of Plain White T’s I looked over towards the sound box (located toward the back of the floor area) and there standing in the back part of the floor was CARTEL. I about flipped a shit. I love them so hard, but yeah that’s not important.
Dashboard Confessional
By far my favorite part of the night. I have waited SO long to see them. Chris was simply amazing. His voice was so perfect that it’s just ridiculous. Toward the end of their set he called out the Plain White T’s and Ian Crawford from The Cab to sing with him. They proceeded to cover Pink’s song So what. It was honestly the second most epic part of the night.

OMG, I don’t even know what to say, Brendon’s voice was so on last night. He did an amazing job vocally, probably one of the best, if not, the best time/times I’ve EVER heard him sing. I wish I would have gotten video of nine in the afternoon. Right before the second verse something seemed really off. So you could tell that Brendon was trying to get the song on track again, but it was just fucked beyond belief, so he backed away from the mic and did this nervous laugh. Spencer stopped the show and apologized to everyone because he fucked his drum part up and it threw the entire band off. I laughed so hard. It was def the most epic moment of (fail of)the night.
The banter during the middle of Shout was HILARIOUS
The sound in this video is AMAZING, my bff took it and said that I could upload it to my youtube.

After the show we tried to wait by the buses but security was all SRS BIZNAZ about getting us off the property after we trespassed in an area where we weren’t suppose to be.
So that’s my long story about Rock Band Live.
I probably forgot a few things in there.
