I finally got my fafsa back yesterday. I got enough money to go to Rutgers for free! I'm so happy..and relieved. Now I just have to figure out what the hell I want to do..but there's time for that

The worst part of that is that other public figures have made even more hateful, derogatory comments and not gotten in any trouble at all. Harvey Fierstein wrote an article in the New York post today about it, and I completely agreed with him. No one kicked Isaiah Washington off Grey's Anatomy for his comments, or cancelled the show. No one really did anything to Anne Coulter, for any of her numerous offenses to just about everyone possible. Mel Gibson will still be making movies. Michael Richards will have shows. Corporate America really does pick and choose who to silence and who to let spew hideous things...it's such a hypocrisy.
You're definitely right. It's frustrating and it's so wrong. I usually just try to ignore it all, but I guess that doesn't help any. I'd never want freedom of speech to be compromised, but I'm hoping that this will set off peoples censors a little bit and that more people like Imus will start seeing more severe consequences.
