Ashley, you cant let yourself be too vulnerable. The difference between guys and girls is guys dont really hold on to feelings for someone as long as girls do. Most guys move on quickly. Thats not always a bad thing cuz it saves you alot of heart ache, but a few guys (like me) know exactly what its like to not be able to move on and to be stuck on someone and that my friend is where the pain lies. You just have to learn to not give a fuck and one day that guy will come along and you'll know, because you'll fall for him quick and you're relationship will be easy. The only problems will be the small ones and how you two are going to find or make time to see each other. Just know that all guys are more diff. than you think and hang in there.
