Random update
Got my bank account finally! After being messed around by bloody Halifax my dad finally agreed to let me go to hsbc who did it there and then. I have a lovely shiny £1700 overdraft and they offered me a credit card which was lovely but I turned it down because I'm useless and would run myself into debt oh so quickly.
