I want to do a good degree at a good uni and that warrants me being thrown out? You'd have thought I said that i wanted to join the circus.

my dad hates it because it isnt computer science (he loves the living though your kids thing) and my mum hates it because her family (well, grandparents) fled china because of the japanese invasion. she still would let me do it tho, its just my dad going mental.

i think im going to try and do it as an additional course while at uni, did you end up taking it as a minor?

Yes, an additional course would work as well. As long as you get to study it. And yes, I have Japanese as a minor, plus I also just spent a year in Japan studying at a uni in Kyoto. :)

its just the money T_T a couple of days ago i got round to reading my loan letter and i dont get ANY money until 10 days after uni starts, possibly 14 D: so im not too sure if i will be able to pay for the course...

Well thats sucky, but also how my parents reacted at first, maybe if you give him time and prove that your sure that's what you want to do he'll come round to the idea? What course did you get on to anyway?

yeah, i'll try that but my dad is pretty much deaf to stuff he disagrees with. im doing computer science T_T at least job prospects are good...
