I had my first French lesson in 4 years today, it is meant to be a beginner's class but was so unbelievably hard. I thought we'd start simple but nooo we are already doing nationalities etc. This wouldn't be so bad but we don't actually get taught them. Instead our teacher writes various beginnings on the board and we are just meant to 'know' the ( Read more... )

aw, don't give up, and tell the teacher if you do not understand a word, ask him/her to explain it. You are there to learn, not to already know! ^^

If you need help, give me a beep ^^ I am not a native speaker, but foreign language assistant ^^ (though sadly French I do can not use much... hehe, but Spanish I have all but forgotten...)

Mostly, think about what the word would be in English, then the French will come easy ^^ (American - Américain; Chinese - Chinois etc.)

thank <3 we do but he just explains with more french!! i guess this method is ok later on but for now its just confusing :S

thats pretty cool, i always loved my foreign language assistants :D

yeah but theres no helping it T_T they use the 'immersion' method from day one and its soooo confusing!
