Thank you so much for your comment! I'm hoping to update with Chapter 7 by no later than this weekend (I've been having trouble with it, but all should be sorted by then!) and then hopefully Chapter 8, 9 and 10 (the ones I'm *really* excited about) should be along very very soon afterwards! Yeah, Louisa is an original character. I really wanted to write Samcedes because I love that ship, but given the era in history that this is set, it wasn't really plausible. But I fell in love with my incarnation of Sam, and he's going to play a key role later in the fic, so I had to give him a love interest!

As for poor Blaine, read on! He may be privileged, but his life pretty much sucks lol.

This is really interesting, and lead to a whole discussion between me and my partner about interracial relationships at different times and in different countries. It wouldn't have been nearly as taboo in the UK as far as I know (I'm assuming this takes place in the UK, since you've got lords and ladies and other monarchy related titles) and it wouldn't be illegal, but probably socially awkward. But yeah, really interesting.

I have time to read some more now! Yay!
