As long as you love God then that is the most important thing, just ask God to show you, be open to him and see where he takes you, it may not be obvious but doors maybe openned or closed when you go to do something and that might be God. Amd with the whole name thing, if it reminds you of something and upsets you then it is totally understandable, love can illiminate this negative feeling but your not in love with him, so.. you know, dont beat yourself up about it.
