Anyone know how taxation on imported goods works? I want to import a product from Australia that I would purchase online and it does say they do international shipping to the world, not just Australia and New Zealand. It is a pure sine wave power inverter that converts 12V DC to 240V AC @ 50-60Hz with less than 3% total harmonic distortion though ( Read more... )

For the taxes you'd have to check and see if there are any tariffs on it. Those should be the only additional taxes.

OK, If I end up ordering it then I will do that.

The replied to my question stating that it will "run on both 50 and 60" which makes no sense because it runs on 12V DC 0hz, the 50 and 60 would have to be an output and they also said there was no switch for it and I doubt it does it based on the plug type (it has the international plug) so it may just be 50Hz and they probably don't even know what it means.

I think I"ll buy a name brand Cotek instead which I know has what I want but it will be harder to get the foreign version of it.
