Picked up my wig in today~ Pretty fast. :/ They said around ten-twenty business days and it came in ~5. It's really pretty. :D And really soft. The top's a little thin, but nothing unusual for a long wig. Basically this post is about my wigs. Includes pictures. Bolded price is how much I paid for them.
Wig #1
This one was from a
local theatrical supply store that had been recommended to me. (I didn't want to order online.) I saw it in the store, picked it, then they picked a 'fresh' one in stock to give me. Which happened to be much worse quality than the one on display. Go figure. Most of it feels like dry, over-bleached hair. $70
The netting shows through quite a bit. I was considering cosplaying Zelos just because of the huge headband. Only way that I can think of that will force the fibres into the thin areas. And dying it should lessen the transparency of the fibres. (I was also thinking about using it for tear because the netting's about her hair colour.
It's pretty thick at the bottom, and the underside is soft. But pretty much all the rest of it is kinky. That's why the shine on it looks so weird.
The front. Again, thick. It's the top and back that are really thin. Still all kinky, though. :/
An example showing the kinks up close. It's also really frizzy. I've heard of an ethnic hair product that might help, but I don't know if I can find it in Canada. :/
Wig #2
This wig. Got it from a cheap eBay seller. It's very smooth, soft, and has a skin top. It has ratting, however. I didn't even notice it for a while, though. :/ You can move the fibres around A LOT without netting showing through. Mine has some flyaways from bad storage (kept it in a grocery bag since the con, lol static), and the sides are wavy from being braided. But except for slight waviness and the bangs, it's pretty much exactly the way it was out of the bag. $20, including shipping
Front of the wig. My wig head is narrower than my head, so the bangs sit a bit oddly on it.
Back and side views. There is nice layering on the side locks, but I'll have to straighten them for it to become noticeable again. Not sure why the one side lock looks so messed up in the pictures. :/ It looks just like the other one IRL.
Top. I didn't know it had a skin top 'til a few days after I took it out of the package. :P It's pretty thick. The shadow at the back is me standing over it. The darkish circle near the shine is the skin top.
The one thing I disliked about the wig: It's really thick on the sides, so it's round. Made my head look like a ball. :/ The way it was cut made it look pretty cartoonish, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, considering the purpose.
Wig #3
This wig. Pretty much like the one above. From the same eBay store. Very, very soft. Shine's a bit more natural-looking than the other one. It's also less round and sits more naturally. The curls look winderful, too. I went with the slightly gray one instead of the white because I wanted a more dull pink after dying. Also, I was afraid of more transparent white wigs like the first one. :/ I really like the way the style looks on me. I kind of want to get a brown one to wear whenever I want my hair to be long and curly. Goes to below my ass/mid-thigh at its longest. $40, including shipping
Front view, hanging normally.
Front view, with the hair all at the sides.
Kind of blurry back view.
Side view. I wasn't able to get a good picture of the curls. :/
Top. Skin top's at the front in this one. It's a line one, not a round one. A bit thin at the top. :/ I might splice it with one of the other wigs (Kanonno, since the fibres are the same) to make it thicker.
