Alright, so bureaucracy is screwing me and despite the fact that i just deposited a check for 2,400 pounds into my shiny new british bank account, i wont actually be able to touch any of for another 10-15 days. as i currently have all of 2 pounds in my wallet to last me until then, and that wont even pay for bus fare into town, i have to live off

Wow, that sucks. I'm curious to know why you have to wait that long to access your funds.

As for ideas, all I got is mixing in some honey and/or raisins with the oatmeal (though I definitely can't guarantee how good it will be, but I think it sounds good).

yeah been doing that... not horrible but could be better.

i have to wait forever because i signed up with Barclays not knowing that the school uses the other bank on campus and being such a large check, they have to wait for it to clear before they can let me have any of it because i dont have any funds in my account to use as collateral in the event that the check bounces. then i have to wait an extra for days to receive my debit card because my account wont fully activate and start processing such things until it has money in it.

It all makes sense, but it does suck that you have to deal with this. Hopefully some one decides to wave their hands and both the funds clear and you get the debit card sometime this week (let's say Wednesday, that's always a good day).
