Christmas Cards
Did everyone send the ACLU a Christmas card?

Here's the Address: Just don't be crude or rude (Not the Christian Way,
you know!)

ACLU
[Adress deleted, i don't care]

Two tons of Christmas cards would freeze their operations because they
wouldn't know if any were regular mail containing contributions. So
spend 39 cents and tell the ACLU to leave Christmas alone. Also tell them
that there is no such thing as a "Holiday Tree". . . . It's a Christmas
Tree even in the fields!!

I copied this from an e-mail we received from Bambi.

Thanks, Bambi

Now, i'ma lirrlte out of the loop, here. why are we sending the ACLU christmas cards
and what about a "holiday tree"?

Me - Dec 18, 2006
ok, i found an article concerning this, for those like me who were confused...

Seattle Times Article

so, correct me if i'm wrong, but your asking if we've sent a letter to the ACLU telling
them Merry Christmas. All because they want to make sure that every holiday is
represented, and that the people of our free nation (settled on the principles of
avoiding religious oppression) get to celebrate the holiday of their choosing, whether
it is christmas or not.

That doesn't sound quite right to me. Sorry if this sounds like a lambast, i'm just a
little confused.

have you forgotten why christmas is celebrated in the first place?

Me - Dec 18, 2006
no, i haven't. it's a celebration of the birth of Christ, the bringer
of the message "good will towards men." it's a celebration of family
and friends, the birth of a great man. It's also a time of celebration
for a number of other religions.

i'm just not clear on why we should send christmas cards to the ACLU, in
an attempt to bog down, even freeze, an organization that is working
towards equality and good will amongst all men and women, no matter
creed or race. that's all.

ok, i transcribed this in the best way that i could, but it doesn't tier quite right. the way to read it is assuming that each subsequent note is a reply to the previous.

no, am i right to be offended by my families mild bigotted ness.
i'm sure the few christian friends that i have on here will understand that i'm not insulting a damn person when i say these things, i'm just trying to understand my family. any help?
