Agreed. Although, I have to say I completely respect Bono because he actually puts his own money into the charities and causes he defends. He doesn't just say things need to be done ( Green Day), he works to change things. He wasn't nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for nothin'! haha
Anyway, a family friend of ours, Ted Templeman (I don't know if you know who he is... he produced for Van Halen, Van Morrison, Bob Dylan, George Harrison, etc) was one of the best producers at Warner Brothers, and left the company for a similar reason. When they merged to Time Warner, the value of the stocks went way down, thus the company spent less money on helping the artists and working with them to make them as successful as possible, and instead tried to save their butts by spending money in all the wrong places. For that reason, he left because he realized that the artists weren't being treated well unless they pumped out major hits one after the other.

So in conclusion, I agree with you wholeheartedly. hah

me donating 50 cents to charity is the equivalent of what bono does. he doesn't inconvenience or sacrifice anything of himself yet asks everyone else to. he was nominated for the nobel peace prize because hes a rockstar

i agree with you...the music industry has been lacking the past fiveish years...nothing really revolutionary (save a few) has come out and music isnt really evolving that much...everything right now is the same crap (or good stuff) we've heard for a while..i don't think that there's a lack of talent..i agree with you that it's just the corrupting of the agencies
