Step One:

Go to Filter -> Sharpen -> Unsharp Mask. Change the settings to:
Amount: 54
Radius: 54.1
Threshold: 6
Step Two:

Duplicate the base and set it to SCREEN.
Step Three:

Create new layer and fill with #00234c and set to EXCLUSION.
Step Four:

Duplicate the base, drag it to the top, and desaturate(SHIFT+CTRL+U). Then set the layer to OVERLAY.

Go to Image -> Adjustments -> Brightness/Contrast. Set the brightness to 8 and the contrast to 35.

And viola! You’re done! This is just a tutorial for the coloring, so don’t limit your icon to just this. Add text, a border, or whatever you want to really customize the icon. I’d love to see your results! =)
