fanfic recs?

So from what I read on wikipedia about the conclusion of XXXholic, I'm not going to disappoint myself reading the manga. So I'm looking for well-written fanfic where the author manages to wrap it up neatly in an alternate way, preferably one that is less convoluted than the one that CLAMP put out. Honestly, I'd recommend finishing the manga, if only because it provides you insights to some of the choices fanfic authors make

I'm just really disappointed in the manga, just because the decisions that Watanuki and Domeki made were terribly irrational towards the end. An ending should provide resolution to the main problem, and it never did. Watanuki came to the shop so that he could stop seeing spirits, and he could have left, but he didn't.

The whole bit where Domeki's great grandson says that it would be painful for him to forget Yuuko- it just doesn't make sense because how could something be painful if he can't remember?

It just seems like the ending was just full of bad decisions on the parts of the characters, which made a non-ending.

That is a fair point, and you seem to have a good grasp on the subject. You'll probably be ok. Honestly, i read the ending as it came out and now it's like, "...but i had to read it and you should all have to read it tooooooooo!" *flails*

Also, i'm kind of an angry person, so i liked being angry at the ending even though i didn't really like it. I don't necessarily agree with your interpretation, though i too strongly hated the ending (buuuuut the egg!), but this isn't the place for such a debate. XD
