The Iraqi woman who lost 5 family members & whose house was in ruins, by George; THAT almost made me cry to see her victimized to that degree simply 'cause she lives there.....

I hope to see the movie as a matinee thing.

The only issue I have with Moore is, I think last year or so, he was at the Academy Awards? and he blasted Bush out loud. Not that I disagreed with him but he came out looking a bit unprofessional.

Anyway,... Spidey 2 baby!!!!

All the facts can be found along with their origins on Micheal's website. It's a very sound movie.

also: To hell with professionalism

I think Hollywood and the whole movie industry needs to be infiltrated with some unprofessionalism, otherwise all we'd get are a billion replicas of Vin Diesel.

I really can't wait to see it, and I'm glad it's doing so well; I think that's a very good sign.

One thing you said, "A 2 hour flim cannot sum up the history of 4 years." I have to disagree with. I've seen hundreds of years of history summed up very well in a couple of hours. That's kind of what summing up is...

Well you are right that is what summing up is but I was thinking in my mind about the complaints being said about the movie, the fact that it just wasn't detailed enough and so on and so on. What I wanted to put across was that people cannot go to this movie expecting to understand the last 4 years of our history in perfect detail and explanation. That just is asking too much from a movie.

I see your point now. I think any documentary has two functions:

First to inform but second to create curiosity. You can't cover anything completely in a couple of hours or even, with somethings, in a couple of years. A good documentary should make you aware and want to learn more about it's subject...

I fear that people will take this film as absolute and utmost truth and not bother to dig deeper into the very complex issues that it portrays.
Exactly! Or they would think it is absolute false because they take Fox News for truth...I can give a list of books and other sources that provide the same information as Moore did, and I think that it is our responsibility to always do fact checking. I think that Moore is pretty right on about finding honest sources, but regardless of that, in a time like this, we must question.

I went to a House Party last night to watch a film about/by Amy Goodman, and it was impressive. I'll find out the name of it and try to give a link or something. It talked about what the media does and does not show us. She's very articulate anyway.

What do you want to do this Friday? I can tell you all the details then...plus I posted on my blog about it. Maybe we can brainstorm some cuntalicious revolution ideas.
