straight edge for a lot of people isn't what it used to be. For many it's become a fad, and has a lot of negative connotations with it. I'm not implying for a second that they are right, but the show could be in response to those that are not true straight edge.

Just to use an extreme example, the same way the pentagram has absolutely nothing to do with the devil, regardless of that fact, people associate it with being bad and satanic.

yeah i'm going to watch the episode and see what happens, cause perhaps they will address what you're saying- those who are not true straightedge or those who are in it because it's the cool new thing to do. cause of course, like most things, it has become fad-ified :P

just a quick question though, what are the negative connotations?
