August 22nd the school is hosting a Block Party, as planned by me. we've been flyering for it for over a month. Tomorrow is my big day to start planning away for this thing. Give me ALL your best Block Party suggestions ( Read more... )

Depending on the weather, water gun/balloon fights.

We always had a firetruck come or the police withe k9 unit.
Duck pond game is always fun.

the moon bounce is always fun which you clearly already have set. the inflatable slides are also really fun.

loud music. i don't think it has to be a band, you could get away with an iPod mix and a good PA, but music + block party go hand in hand.

people seem to like cornhole, i don't understand why, but it's usually a big hit.

face painting is also pretty rad. usually you can get local art students to volunteer.

depending on what time or how hot, misting stations are a good relief.

giant bubbles are pretty awesome and easy to do.
