Boy, where do I begin. Shall I even began? Oh what the heck, ya'll knew I would do this.

While I'm sure this whole post will pretty much be a waste of my life, I'm going to use it as sheer entertainment value for myself.

Now, I know that when it comes to comic book movies, plots and story arcs are thrown out the window. Let's face it, it would be impossible to fit 40+ years of the comic book and all the 20 something spin-offs (that was just a guess) in a 1 1/2 hour movie. But, some of my biggest pet peeves with the X-Men movies, and most specifically the 3rd one, are the inaccuracies of characters as well as the general back stories for each. I was surprised to see good characters play evil roles (Multiple Man, Psylocke, Spyke, etc...) and powers which made these characters who they are, not even be recognized but replaced by something totally different (again Psylocke, Callisto, etc...). To be honest, I did not even realize that was Callisto until somebody told me. They chose a hot actress for her, btw.

I think Phoenix, or more accurately, Dark Phoenix ruined the movie for me. Being a fan of Phoenix since I was a child, I was disappointed with the lack of special effects of the Phoenix Effect and how they made her look so grotesque when she used her powers. No thanks, I don't care to see that many veins as I have enough visible veins on my legs. No, not really...or not yet, anyway. I hope. Moving on! While I somewhat got over the fact that they could not recreate the Phoenix Force and therefore, lead into the creation of Dark Phoenix, her character was passive for most of the movie. They somewhat contradicted themselves in the script when Charles had said she feeds off emotions, but yet failed to show any along with her true ability of power in the movie. I also didn't like how Wolverine was able to get through to her so easily while it was so easy to get "rid" of Scott. Perhaps they'll show in the next movie that he was sent into another dimension...I just highly doubt that with how strong the connection the two have (and how important the two of them are in the role of X-Men), she would've killed him. We didn't see him die, anyway.

Speaking of the scene with Wolverine and Dark Phoenix, Wolverine cannot heal that fast. And while I'm at it, I must shake my first at this being a PG-13 movie because if it wasn't, I'm sure his pants would've been obliterated just as his shirt had (hee hee...).

Some other tidbits: I had been looking forward to Psylocke in this movie and was saddened by her role. Colossus and Angel also had small roles. I heard around that Emma Frost was going to be in this movie, but turns out she wasn't (at least my other sources were correct about Scott and Xavier "dying"). I saw credits for Omega Red, but didn't see him. The scene before the big fight went from day (no, not sunset) to night in a matter of 2 seconds. And oh yeah, Juggernaut is not a mutant and would not have been in any way, affected by Leech (who was an adorable kid in the movie).

Despite all that, I thought the script was too...busy, but I did kinda enjoy it overall.

Now, for some good remarks. I thought the action and special effects were great. I was happy that they incorporated the fight between Callisto and Storm in the movie. I was also happy seeing Ice Man in his icy state. ShadowCat was cute as a button and the sentinel in the danger room was pretty neat, too.

I wanna see the movie again because I heard towards the last scene when Kitty is standing in front of the three tombstones, there is a fourth in the background with Gambit's name. I cannot confirm if this is correct, as I had also heard that in the scene with Magneto in the park playing chess, there is a guy in a brown trenchcoat playing cards. Hmm. Curious, indeed. If anyone wants to come with, let me know.

I apologize if I sound like a snobby, know-it-all X-Men fan, because honestly, I really don't know it all. I just know a few things here and there and would appreciate some accurate story telling.
