Sometimes I wonder if any part of me really changed from being in Africa or working at the camp this summer. I wonder if my view of the world has been effected at all. I think in some ways it has helped me view various aspects more positively, but every once in a while I wonder if a bit of royal hartigan style guilt sinks in

At least all of life, even in the US, isn't so phony as King Richard's Faire. KRF makes no real attempt to be accurate; it's for entertainment. The Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) is a group which does much more realistic medieval reenactment. I used to be involved with them, although haven't done anything in a while.

On a related note, I'm sorry Amber and I weren't able to make it with you this time.
