Good thing, bad thing, good thing

I had no idea that crock pots would boil over. *makes note* In my world, there'd be no room for any green bell pepper. :D

So yours is a vintage crock pot. We had one in the early 70s which I guess was when they first became popular.

Yeah, if you fill them too full, when the liquid starts to bubble up around the edges, it will sometimes seep out around the lid's edge and blurp up over the edge of the pot itself and then drip down the outside--and the inside of the outside piece, too. It happens more often when it's set on "high" than when you're cooking on "low." There probably wasn't more than a quarter of a cup or so on the counter, but it was kind of messy.

I love bell peppers, hence my leaping for the opportunity to add more.

It is probably a vintage crock pot, but all that means to me is that when the lid finally cracks (it has a couple small chips on the edge which make me worry a little), I won't be able to get a replacement lid for it. (I've looked.) Still, I ought to be able to replace the pot with a non-vintage model, so all will not be lost!

I love them, too, just not the green ones.

I doubt if there's any appreciable difference between vintage crockpots and new ones in terms of quality. It's such a simple thing. I really like mine although it's a pain to wash.

Green ones are the ones I grew up with. I cannot tell you how old I was before I learned that there are red bell peppers, too, and even yellow ones! My mother only ever used the green ones
