Question for Google-knowledgeable folks

Suppose that I am interested in registering a domain name and keeping up a web site. How advantageous is it to register the domain name through Google and upkeep it, vs. registering it through some other service (GoDaddy, Yahoo, and the like)? Is there a particular domain hosting service that anyone would recommend?

I've used google's domain registration and found it quite easy and cheap. It uses goDaddy (or some other service, if goDaddy isn't available at the moment) but you won't be exposed to their tasteless marketing.

It also makes it dead easy if you want to set up webpages, email, etc. at that address.
