Having a group of scouts from 21st Whitley Bay staying at the campsite this weekend didn’t stop Norman and I carrying on with work as usual. In fact, they even gave a hand.

a combination of things...
shoot the pic with a macro lens so you can get real close
it was pretty dull when i took that pic, a thunder storm had just passed over so i recorded the shot in ISO 100 (shutter seed about 1/20 second) i used my tripod of course so as not to get any "shake" at a slow shutter speed. also, the aperture was pretty low, giving me a shallow DOF, this i feel give the pic a little drama.
in the camera settings, i used center weight adjusted metering, dampened down the saturation and put on a few marks of hue. then once i got home, simply used photoshop to crop and size the pic.
