mmm i guess it renews in me a certain strength - the courage to plod on - when sometimes one loses the ability to believe in life with its incoherence and illogical-ities. this speaks to me in particular because it's so honest and unpretentious in addressing issues of self-doubt and the insecurities which we project onto others. and i think deep down, we identify with Rilke because we want to be the very people he describes - the children who love and trust without apprehension, the heroes who find their princesses in the unlikeliest of places.. and the explorers who live to tell their reckless stories.
