I figure everyone's entitled to a good rant. Jono said dryly from the bed he'd been stuck in. Penny was crouched next to him like a loyal guard dog, watching everything.

She was being particularly inscrutable today, though Chamber could tell that she was feeling upset. He put a hand on her shoulder and gave it a careful pat, reassuring her silently that he was as alright as anyone without a chest could be.

"Hey, ease up on Rictor!" Jubilee said, scratching at the itchy bandages wrapped around her shoulder, where a bullet had ripped through the upper layer of flesh. "I'll have you know that we depowered mutants can fight just as well as you. I don't remember seeing you out there in the riot when we were getting the pelting of our lives." Jubilee grumbled a few more heated words under her breath

You're welcome. It's nice to hear a thank you every now and again. Jono started popping his knuckles. Now, does anyone here know what the bloody hell was going on? Besides the flatscans doing their best to finish us off?

He looked around the room, everywhere but at Jubilee. He was thinking about what she'd said before, about how the Scarlet Witch had made almost everyone loose their powers. Part of him was tempted to bring it up, but now was not the time.

Jamie shrugged sheepishly in response. "I'd sent a couple of dupes out into the mob to find out what was going on, but it was basically a mob that took advantage of the power outage."

He looked around at the well-stocked hospital room. "I'm Jamie Madrox, by the way. Multiple Man. And I probably know everyone, but I'm not sure if it was me or my dupes or maybe even my dead dupes that you've met, so could everyone just please tell me who they are and why I pissed them off?" Jamie grinned ingratiatingly. "It makes it a lot easier for me."

Santo nodded at Cleo. "Yeah, he's in another squad at the Institute. No idea why he's here, though." He headed forward, leaving the young woman to talk to who he now recognized as Madrox, the Multiple Man. The room seemed to be crawling with former X-people. He cracked (literally) a smile. He was the only current X-man -well, in training, but those were just words- in the room.

He approached the bed where Vic was laying. "Dude. What are you doing here? What happened? Looks like the Sapes gotcha pretty bad." He leaned closer. "Dude, Cleo over there is setting me up with one of her cousins. I'll ask for you, if you want."

Victor's eyes widened at the sight of a friendly face. Even though most of the faces around the room were familiar, few were particularly friendly at the moment.

"I'm doing better. I was in Mutant Town looking for Kevin after he ran away from the Institute. And before I knew what happened I got pulled into that riot. Those Sapes sure can pack a punch... er... baseball bat. But the doctors have done a good job. And I'm healing pretty quick. I can actually walk a little now, which is more than I can say for earlier. It's really nice of you to offer housing or whatever. But, I'm not sure when I'll be out of here. The whole not being able to walk more than a few feet is an issue."

Anole paused, looking quizically at his friend, "What are you doing in New York? I thought Ms. Frost put you on the new team."

The grin on Santo's face widened even more. "Yeah, dude. So get this. Me, Julian, Surge, Cess, Foley, Sooraya, and this way-hot chick named X-23-- she's like Wolverine's cousin or something--are training to be X-men. X-men, dude!" His grin lessened a little. "Well, not currently. I mean me, Cess, and Julian came down here to Mutant Town looking for Sofia. Did you know she left after the funeral? Well anyway we got seperated and I got dragged into the fight. Me an' Cleo over there decided to come visit all the guys that got hurt in the riot so, here I am."

"You should have told me you knew cute green guys. There is a disgusting shortage of cute green guys," Cleo said, planting herself on Victor's bed. She smiled at him and held out a hand. "Hi, I'm Cleo. You got beaten down by racist idiots outside my grandma's store. Nice to mee you."
