Roaming around the tower ((open to anyone that would humor the c-list hero))

Jul 12, 2006 02:18

Craig had been invited back to the tower thanks to Clint Prodding Cap and Tony a little. He smiled and pretended as if this wasn't the biggest thing that had happened to him in months. Squirrel girl got to take on Thanos and he got to hang out at the Avengers tower ( Read more... )

Billy had spent several minutes quietly following Craig, just watching him. Finally, he cleared his throat. "Excuse me," he said, one hand on his ever-present hip bag. "But aren't you Mr. Immortal?"

After a quick shower to get all of the sweat and brick-grit out of his hair, Teddy had gone for Billy like a homing pigeon.

That simile fell apart when Teddy had joined his boyfriend in trailing the adult hero around the Tower. Teddy was pretty sure that they weren't supposed to trail the adult heroes around for fanboying purposes, but honestly, what did the Avengers expect them to do when a situation presented itself like this?

Craig turned around and was actually surprised that someone knew who he was. He walked up to Billy and Teddy, smirking.

"Yeah that's me. Leader of the Great Lakes Champions....." He shrugged seeing the looks on their faces. "Yeah, we got another cease and desist order from the x-men."

Billy was digging in his bag for his autograph book. He'd kept it put away since they'd been hauled off to the Tower after the thing with the Kree and the Skrull, but by God, he was going to get Mr. Immortal's autograph.

Billy prided himself on having a collection of autographs from some of the most obscure heroes on the planet. "I hate to be a pest, but...?" He held out the leather bound book, open to a blank page, and a pen. His smile was equally shy and hopeful.

Craig took off his mask and relaxed a little. He followed the two boys.

"Well if you don't mind me tagging along. I guess I have nothing else to do, wherever you guys are heading. I could tell you some stories from back in the West Coast days."

"Would you?!" Teddy squeaked, turning to face the older hero and inadvertantly spinning Billy around with him. His arm had sneaked itself around his boyfriend's waist at some point. "That would - wow - that would be so cool!"

Billy joined in the making of undigified squeaking sounds, partly from joy, partly because he'd suddenly been spun around and now his arm kind of hurt because that was how he'd been moved when Teddy had moved. "That would be one of the coolest things ever," Billy agreed.

"Well I don't know about coolest. But I'm glad someone actually takes interest in my stories. Did you know, we once took on Deadpool?"

He smirked and followed the boys, standing a little behind them.

Teddy had been about to comment on the improbability of Tommy being "good" by any definition of the word when Eliza had started swearing and bleeding. He had grabbed Billy's shoulder out of habit, then released him when it was obvious that the other boy wasn't about to touch the empath either. Instead he went to go grab something to mop up the blood.

He assumed that the unnamed "fuckwit" was the girl "Voldemort" had taken prisoner, who had been told that she was carting around a Tool like the Knife that "Voldemort" had. He remembered that the Staff had some effect on Mrs. Xanathos' family - as proven by the enormous white wolf that had been in the hospital room - so that was probably why it was hurting Eliza.

At least it wasn't hurting Billy too, a small, selfish little voice in the back of his head pointed out. Teddy ignored it and offered a damp washcloth to Eliza.

Eliza took one corner of the washcloth, careful not to come close to touching Teddy. "Thanks," she mumbled, wiping at the blood running down her face. "I hate this. Sorry. I'm not very good company when I can't keep it out." She shuddered. "Nasty."

"You okay? Do you need anything?" Billy asked.

"For you to stop hovering with all the guilty? Maybe someone could rescue my poor cousin before someone frightens him to death?"
