Because the fact that Cassie's pissed isn't enough...

The Vision closed the door to the roof behind him, shutting out Kevin Ford, Chase Stein and the Leapfrog.

Putting it off would only make it worse. And if he came clean about it on his own, well, at least Captain America and Iron Man wouldn't think that he was trying to hide this sort of thing from them. That would be worse ( Read more... )

"Come in, Vision," Mr. Stark said, his tone clipped. He was clearly not the least bit pleased at the moment. "I was wondering if we were going to have to track you down." He was working on something that looked suspiciously like an exploded security camera.

"[No sir,]" the Vision answered mildly, entering the room and closing the door behind him. "[I was endeavoring to take a few moments to collect myself, but I always intended to make an account of my actions.]"

Seeing Mr. Stark at work on the remains of a security camera was not an uncommon sight, as of this past week. The Vision wondered if this was new or if Mr. Stark was still working through a back-log. He also wondered if the newly repaired cameras would be somewhat more resistant to Billy's powers.

Tony Stark made a noise that was mostly an annoyed grunt. Just what he was annoyed about was open to debate, as he was trying to unscrew the warped over on the burnt out security camera.

"And your account would be...?"

The Vision took a deep - though unneeded - breath and opened his mouth to explain himself.

"]Kristoff Vernard entered the training room while I was making use of it. He appeared to be interested in picking a fight with me, something which to be honest I was not uninterested in myself. Insults were exchanged and I failed to recall some of the circumstances of his life, including that his mother had been murdered. He attacked me physically, and though I did not sustain any damage, I did not end the fight when I should have, thus leading to his more severe injuries. I will make no excuses for my actions. My fault clearly dwarfs his.]"

[And now Cassie hates me and I am in infinitely more trouble than I would have been if I had not been so stupid.]
