The Getout

After his shower and slipping into something nicer than his workout clothes, Victor did some snooping, and managed to find a window that he could open. The view was something breathtaking, even with the barred cage around the outside to prevent falls. Not a problem for what he had in mind though. When he let his powers charge up faintly, he could ( Read more... )

Billy debated only a moment before going to Teddy and putting a hand on his shoulder, giving it a long squeeze. "Mrs. Xanathos said Sinesis wasn't dead, didn't she? Guess she was right."

"Of course she's not," Eliza growled. "They don't die. That would make our lives easy." Her hands clenched and unclenched, and she glared at the wall. "Cyrus? Nobody's going to hurt you. Stay here." She turned on her heel and stalked out of the room, back stiff and hands clenched at her sides.

Teddy took a couple of deep breaths, focusing on finding his center and calming down. He wasn't going to be useful to anyone if he was busy having a guilt-based panic-attack. Besides, if she was alive...

I still killed her. Teddy bit his lip and pushed the thought aside. Dealing with the guilt came later, he needed to focus now.

Cyrus was still cringing in the corner. "I'msorryI'msorryI'msorry."

Cassie stared at the wall. Nazi bug woman was back and they couldn't deal with her, and the only way they'd escaped was by killing her before- but she didn't even stay dead. She couldn't help feeling that they officially sucked at superheroing, even if they took down Kang, that was really all Iron Lad. And Vision.

Poor Teddy, at least Billy was there for him.

"Cyrus, it's not your fault." She said.

Billy was torn between following Eliza in an attempt to stop whatever she was planning to do -- he had no doubt it would include something being thrown at someone -- comforting Teddy, and figuring out why the six foot tall albino who could probably break him in half was cowering like a whipped puppy.

Of course, the thought of having to go up against Sinesis was enough to make him want to hide under the bed...

A new voice echoed out in the hall.

"I don't know WHY you want my gun, and don't WANT to know why, but I sure as all hell am not giving you one."

"It's for a good cause," Eliza said.

"You're idea of 'good cause' and my idea of 'good cause' are two vastly different things, kid."

Billy let out a small groan and pinched the bridge of his nose.

He was never going outside again.
