"This," Hulkling declared, swinging the tree branch like a baseball bat and sending at least three of the zombies flying messily backwards, "was not my plan for this week".

Anole watched in disgust as the Hulkling fought the zombies from up in the trees. Why zombies of all things? He weighed his options, stay in the trees in relative safety and stay clean, or do the X-Men thing and help his fellow mutant...shape shifter...green skinned fellow.
He leapt out of the trees and kicked one of the zombies in the chest, pulled back and kicked another one's head of with a roundhouse. He wrinkled his nose in disgust as its head fell with a squish onto the forest floor. "That is so gross."

The speed at which the other boy had appeared had startled him, but identifying his skin as a living green was a major relief.
"You're telling me." he agreed, batting a few more zombies away like baseballs. "At least they're not talking. D'you have any idea where we are? Because I'm pretty sure this isn't New York."
The zombies hadn't been the hint. They were odd, yeah, but not beyond the realm of possibility. Mostly it was the trees. And the sky. Even polluted sunsets didn't turn the whole sky that color.

"Not a clue," Anole said as kicked more zombies away, "One moment I was getting ready to go into the danger room, the next I'm here, with zombies. I hate zombies." He proceded to kick another zombie's head off as if to drive home that point.
He stole a glance of the sky as he did a back flip in an effort to put some distance between him and the zombie horde. He turned to his companion, "Ever hear of an alien called Mojo? This might be his doing."

Hulkling did not squeak when the other boy mentioned the Danger Room. Mostly because he was focusing on the zombies, but also because fanboying during a fight probably wasn't a good idea.
"I've read about him, but only what they have in the comics." he answered, picking up one of the fresher-looking zombies and bowling a strike with it. "Does he do zombies now?"
We just did aliens a couple weeks ago! a corner of his mind complained. Hulkling ignored that too and shoved a female zombie that was just getting far too close.
"Should we get moving know or rest up a bit?" He looked down at the zombies. "I don't think they can climb trees, so as long as we're up here we should be relatively safe... Key word should." He gave a sigh, feeling like he was in over his head. Up until now he hadn't had any real field experience, everything up until this point had been all sims in the danger room. He began to wonder if those sims had given him enough experience to survive this.
Hulkling rolled his shoulders, stretching out the muscles. "The shapeshifting means that I recover fast. I'm ready to fly when you guys are." he said agreeably. He hoped that at least one of the other guys had better leadership skills than he did. Hulkling preferred taking orders to giving them, which hadn't been the least of his reasons for not going with either the Kree or the Skrulls.
"Not that you know....the tongue thing wasn't fun or anything, but if Hulkling wouldn't mind carrying both of us this time. I'm not opposed to that idea. I'm ready when you guys are."
"It was kinda ackward," Anole agreed. "Well then. I guess we're ready then." Anole stood and turned to face Hulkling. "What's the best way for us to fly?"
She landed on the ground with a thud. Her bow, her arrows, and a few other choice weapons dropped around her in a small smattering of a circle. Kate Bishop sat up, rubbing her head, grumbling as she flipped her dark hair over her shoulder and adjusted her purple-lensed glasses.
Looking around herself, her brows knitted in annoyance. "This better not be Kansas."
Anole looked back down at the ground, noticing that a dark haired girl had appered, "Sar- er... Network is that you? Wait...no, you're hair's longer." He casting a look at the other boys he said, "Be right back." And began to jump from branch to branch to reach the new comer.
"Did...you say something about a wireless network?" Kate pushed herself off the ground and retrieved her weapons, putting everything back in their proper places. She held the bow in her hand though. "Is Kang playing with the timeline or something?"
"Huh?" Hulkling asked intelligently, then followed Anole's line of sight.
"K-- Hawkeye!" he called out, feeling relieved. One more person found, one less person that had to be found. He followed Anole down, shifting a pair of wings into existance and jumping off of the branch he'd been sitting on.
