Can someone please save us from punk rock 101?

The mechanical green frog thing came hopping through the forest, coming to a stop almost on top of Billy… right before he blew it up with a yelp. His nerves were starting to run towards ‘frazzled’, and he really could have done without the extra surprise of… whatever it was… after dealing the zombies and meeting Ricochet (who’s autograph he so ( Read more... )

Following the frog was painfully slow. He didn't dare ask if Nico could speed it up though. Didn't want to find out if she was protective of her magic as some witches were.

When it finally found Billy Tommy gave a whoop, "Billy! I think this is the first time I'm actually happy to see you!" He hugged his frazzled looking look-a-like.

Billy yelped again, nearly blowing Tommy up before realizing that he wasn't being attacked by a high speed zombie. "Jeeze, Tommy, way to give a guy a heart attack!"

Nico, for her part, had almost immidiately over to and clung to Old Lace and Gert, muttering 'Thank God' under her breath over and over again. She glared over her shoulder at Topher as Old Lace growled, and the vampire put on an innocent face.

"We're stuck in the same trap, I'm not about to fuck up my chances of escaping!" Topher said.

Tommy laughed, and made introductions "Ok, hot vampire boy is Topher, but I like calling him Angel better. The goth chick whoes hotness you probably can't appericaitate is Nico, she's a witch too. Then we have Doom Jr. and little Miss Creepy also know as Lila. She doesn't like me for some reason."

He looked around at the people Billy had been with waved at Cassie and then looked at the dinosaur. "Is that a real dinosaur?"

Cassie hadn't moved since the other group found them. She stared at "Doom Jr."

No way. "Kristoff?"

"Cassandra?" Kristoff Vernard looked equally surprised.

No way! "Oh my God!" Cassie practically tackled Kristoff with a hug.

Nico’s grip on the Staff tightened, and she tensed. “Fuck that,” she said, her eyes narrowing.

Topher cleared his throat, keeping as many people between him and both Lila and Nico as he could. “I hate to say this, but I’m siding with Nico here. Y’see, sweetcheeks, I think I’ve got a damn good idea of who your mother is, and who we’re dealing with.” He shuddered. “You’re a goddamn Mox, and I don’t think I’m gonna trust you any further than glasses over there could throw me.”

"My mother was a Mox." Lila replied flatly. "I never have been. And if you know what we're dealing with, vampire, then you must know that he is going to be able to sense that Staff and he is going to want it and he is going to come find it." She looked over at Nico. "That Staff you hold is the sibling of the Knife the Beast carries. There were more, originally, but at least two of the Tools have been destroyed, and some of the others are bound and hidden. Aside from his Knife, that Staff is the only thing he's going to be able to get without much trouble."

"I'm not saying this because I want you powerless." she continued. "I'm saying this because I want to survive this and be able to go home." she blinked hard and looked at her feet, then at Kristoff. "You believe me, don't you?" she asked softly.

That was a question Kristoff wasn't sure he could answer. But he could provide what he thought was most correct.

"Yes, you are as vulnerable as any of us. However if we were to discard the Staff our enemy would gain its power, would he not? If we were to keep it we could use it against him."

Unless she's smarter than she looks, that girl doesn't know a damn thing about that Staff. Lila very carefully didn't say.

"He's had centuries to build up his knowledge on the use of the Tools." she said. "I highly doubt that we'd have any chance if we were to allow him within earshot much less spell-casting range."
