Waiting for People (everyone who isn't walking off in a huff)

"Silly boy." Rowena sighed as she watched Teddy storm off. Her giggle fit had finally subsided, and she was ignoring the look that Billy was giving her.

"I'm going after him." the boy said, getting up and following Teddy.

"Silly boys." Rowena corrected herself. Eliza knelt down beside the old woman ripping the sleave off her shirt ( Read more... )

Cassie blinked and moved a little closer to the Vision. While she knew she should probably be thanking Mrs. Xanathos for saving them, it did not seem like the time. In fact, it seemed the time to just make an excuse and leave because she was beginning to get a little scared (not that she hadn't been scared before, but there's a creepy-scared and a I'm-being-attacked-by-a-giant-bug scared).

The Vision purposefully remained seated. Billy was going off with Teddy, they could probably work it out better without his help. Besides, the others needed him to stay. Still, he wished that he had thought to borrow some of Mr. Stark's tracking devices. It would have made him more comfortable with them just going off like that.

The Vision cast about for some topic of conversation to keep everybody talking. Really, they shouldn't be hanging out in a forest when everyone obviously needed to go to the hospital. Really.

He noticed Cassie fidgeting a little and shifted his weight so that she could lean on him if she wanted to. He told himself that it was because he would be able to monitor her breathing and heart rate better if she was closer, but he was pretty sure that he was full of it.

Sofia looked off in the direction the two boys went, unsure if it was a good idea to just let them go off like that. She remained silent though, figuring the others knew them well enough to not worry so she, a total stranger, shouldn't. She stepped out of Eliza's way as she went to her grandmother, amazed how mature she appeared to be acting. Perhaps it was the situation after all that made her act the way she did.

"Perhaps we should take the others to a hospital..." She suggested quietly. Magic could only do so much good after all. "And a couple of us could follow those two to search for your friend." It seemed to be a better plan than just standing around and hoping everything would fix itself.

"Anyone have any idea where that is?" Eliza asked. "Or where in the hell we actually are, for that matter?"

"Somewhere in Maine." Rowena said grimely as the girl tied the ruins of her sleave around Rowena's leg to stop the wound in her calf from bleeding. "Probably near the northern border. And of course, the only one with the kind of power to get us back to New York has just gone chasing after his boyfriend." She snorted. "Gods sake, girl, stop fiddling with that and leave me in peace!"

"And let you bleed to death, Grandmother? I think not." There was something decidedly nasty in Eliza's tone.

As Zack and Tommy made showed up with the rest of the group, Zack looked around at the carnage. Despite being patched up, everyone still seemed in low spirits. "Holy sh*t..."

By the time he realized he was standing there with his jaw dropped, every excuse he had ever used to shirk a responsibility of some kind had fast-forwarded through his head. Unfortunately, none of them applied here. Zack felt like a royal chrome ass.

"Hey, at least I didn't blow anyone up..." he said as he smiled feebly. He couldn't even think of a joke to try and lift everyone's spirits.

"Hail hail, the gang's all here." Billy called out as he and Teddy returned. He absolutely refused to look the least bit embaressed about having to be carried back by Teddy. And he wasn't. Not at all. In fact, he was probably the most comfortable person there because Teddy, unlike the snow all around them, was warm. "And now it is time for a brilliant plan to get us out of here. Anyone got one?"

"You. Teleporting us back to New York. Preferably not Avengers Tower, for I shall be forced to throw Captain Rogers out a window if I ever have to deal with him again." Rowena said testily.

"... it's a plan, but not a good one."

"It's that or you all trek to the nearest town... which I assure you is very far away... unless you can fly... and find a way to explain just what you all are doing out here."

"He's not teleporting all of us back to New York because he can't," Teddy said flatly. No, he definitely wasn't pleased with this woman and her crazy ideas.

He was perfectly fine with trekking to the nearest town, or flying, rather, and bringing back whatever help was needed to transport the rest of the group. If Billy was weak enough after casting a locating spell that he was having issues with standing up straight, what would teleporting -- how many people were there here? Ten? No, Jesus, thirteen. Thirteen people. What would trying to teleport that many people do to him?

"Not happening." The look he aimed at the old woman held more than a small amount of threat. Just let her try to push this issue.

"And you're brilliant plan for getting all of them to safety and explaining everything would be...?" Rowena asked, sarcasm dripping from every word. Eliza stood up and pulled a foot back as if she were about to kick the old woman in the ribs, and she sighed. "I'm not unsympathetic." Rowena said, her tone considerably more gentle. "And I assure you, Billy will not be doing this alone." She eyed Eliza. "I'll have to drop the sheilds on my granddaughter to give him enough power. But if we go to any hospitals near here, we're just as likely to end up right back in Vanessa's claws. There is a doctor waiting back at the Devil's Due right now who specializes in these kinds of things. He's got a considerable amount of experiance dealing with them, as a matter of fact."

"Who is it?" Billy asked warily.

"Who else? Auggie."

Eliza groaned. "Can I just be left here to freeze to death, please?"
