Anole had stowed away from the Xavier's Institute in Karma's trunk. He wanted to help find his missing teammate, Wither. But this was far from what he had been looking for. He had been walking down the street, asking people if they had seen Kevin. But when the power suddenly cut off in Mutant Town, that's when all hell broke loose

Jubilee was surprised by Karma's zeal and courage, she hadn't seen Karma take the lead in a charge in a long time. She followed suit. She may not have powers, but those weren't what made a hero. Plus, she always had a few tricks up her sleeves.

((OOC: Since LJ ate the comment, a reminder: This is taking place at the same time as all the chaos with Kenny, the YA, and the Runaways.))
Jono lept into the fray without giving it too much thought. He knew if he thought about it, things would get very, very bad. Not that they weren't already. But as long as he focused on the problem right in front of him, it was managible.
Like blasting these racist wankers. It was a simple thing to do. Just keep hitting until they stop moving. Get the civilians out of the way. Save the day.
Yeah, he could do that.
He could see Penny moving out of the corner of his eye, a deadly red blurr as she ripped through the attacking Sapien Leaguers. Bullets just slid off her like they were nothing. Minor annoyances to someone who's skin was as hard as diamond.
He saw the green boy go down beneath the humans' attacks, and he saw red.
OI! YOU WANKERS WANT A FIGHT, YOU GOT ONE! he roared in their minds, blasting into the crowed. He knew that some of them were now on fire, and that there was a

Jono heaved a mental sigh, looking around the room. He saw a great deal of agreement on the faces around him. And they were looking to him for... what? Permission?
Bloody hell.
Fine. We're going out. But we stay together, and we keep the line of retreat open. We find any wounded, we take them right back here. Oi, you./font color> he pointed to Connor. Give Jubes some weapons. You said you had some.
Connor nodded shortly, passing his wife and the injured Rictor as he headed into the back. Cleo hauled Rictor all the way too a booth, and Eliza slid in across from him. "Check his pupils," the girl said. "Hey, you. Guy. Can you hear me? Fuck, this looks nasty..."
Rictor waved at the slight blur talking at him in the vague way that only those who are half conscious and in enough pain to want to cry like a baby can. He swallowed, pushing away from Cleo some to try and readjust himself to his surroundings. The world tilted wildly for a moment and his stomach almost rebelled but he swallowed then looked at the two women.
“I’ve had worse, believe me. With luck like mine you get used to it.” Julio reached up, ignoring the pain that raced through him, and touched the cut on his head which was now bleeding again. Fantastic. “Does anyone know what’s going on?”
"Fuckheads are attacking anything that moves in Mutant Town. Or anything that doesn't move fast enough." Eliza said. "It looks like a concussion... Hey, guy, do you know where you are? Do you feel like you're gonna spew? Fuck... Cleo, you need to clean off that blood, we need to get a better look at that wound."
"Don't you move," Cleo murmured to Rictor as she slid back out of the booth, patting him on the shoulder as she went.
Swollen with muscle, Guido was always suprised that he could move when he was this big. His head had all but dissapeared behind his pectorals as he lifted a jeep above his head and used it to block an incoming rocket.
"Ugh." he groaned. Think about the pain later big guy, there's kids depending on you.
"Sorry, we forgot that we were supposed to be "The Young Fantastic Four" when we left the Avengers' Tower this morning." Teddy said, rolling his eyes at Kristoff. If that was supposed to be Vision's competition, Teddy didn't see why he was so upset over it. "Right, so..." he spread his hands out. "So someone better at it than me needs to come up with a working plan. Preferably before Vision and Stature come up with their own."
The Vision landed on the roof, Cassie wrapped up in his cape. It was dense and of a more subdued tone, to protect her from bullets and keep from being too noticable. They took cover behind one of the vents.
"[So,]" he began. "[Should we both go inside and smuggle everyone out or should I go and play bait until everyone else gets their act together?]"
Tommy looked distinctly green around the gills. "Never...flying...in this...thing again..." He took a couple of deep breaths.
"Okay...I can either run people out...or I can go around and vaporize them on the spot." He then caught the dirty looks from the rest of his teammates. "Okay, fine. I can run around and punch them 20 times per second. There. Is that better?" Honestly, he didn't care what he did as long as it got him the hell out of this monstrosity.
Xavin experimentally stretched a forcefield around a gun-weilding rioter. She could see the faint shimmer around the man. "Ah, yes, that works, Karolina. You are brilliant. Perhaps ah," She didn't know the person formerly known to her as Speedball's name so she would have to address him impersonally. "You could incapacitate the people I can't form a shield around." Xavin briefly thought of forming a shield around the entire crowd and having the white-haired boy create an explosion inside but this was not war.
Cassie didn't flash a beaming smile at Vision for very long, as they had things to do, but it did last for several seconds after landing on the roof. "I think we should get back with the others before doing anything." She herd some bullets clatter off the other side of the vents. "Or we should go get those people out." She amended her decision.

"As long as you don't get hurt." Cassie said. Nevermind the fact that anyone firing would probably be the one hurt once the bullet ricocheted. She was rather glad the others weren't there. She could just see Kate smirking at her after that comment.
You're here to rescue people, not worry about everything that comes out of your mouth. She told herself.

"[That is unlikely to happen, but thank you for the thought.]" the Vision said, moving down the stairs. It was completely logical that she'd be worried, they were teammates, after all.
He paused on the third floor and peered down the rest of the stairs. He should probably warn the people in the main area of the shop that they were here. Surprising them would be a bad plan.
"[Hallo!]" he called. "[It's Stature and Vision! We're here to help! Please do not shoot at us!]"

"We know!" Eliza shouted back up. "Well, I knew about the girl at any rate. Can't hear you."
Connor came up the stairs, a shotgun in one hand. He wasn't pointing it at them, but he looked like he would be very happy to point and fire at someone very soon. "I'm gonna guess you all are supposed to be the rescue party?" he asked. "God knows everyone else is providing the distraction."
Inside the Devil's Duevision_yaJune 25 2006, 19:19:49 UTC
"[Yes. We are the rescue party.]" the Vision said, sidling in between Cassie and the man with the gun. "[Is anyone injured?]"
The Vision tried to think where the closest safe place to take these people would be - he was definitely going to be making multiple trips and he wanted to be sure to get everyone out as fast as possible.
Karolina watched the others exit the 'Frog and tried not to feel useless. Chase was having a grand ol' time with his lasers, and everybody else was off to spread some mayhem. She needed to do something. She itched all over.
Down below, someone snuck up behind Nico and the archer chick, hefting an impressive crowbar. Impulsively, Karolina grabbed ahold of the radio receiver and held the button with her thumb.
"Nico!" she shouted, her voice crackling loudly across the rioting outside, "Behind you!"
Nico swing around, leveling the Staff of One at the threat Karolina had warned her about. With a shout that was nearly incoherent, she caused the man to collapse into a heap that was literally boneless. "Thanks, K." she said, unable to stop herself from smiling, despite the situation. Karolina was home, and all was right with the world.
Clint finally reached the top of the roof. He laughed to himself seeing just how big the crowd of people had become. He pulled out a tear gas arrow and pulled back on his bow. He hit the top of the roof with his shoe and yelled down for the kids to warn the others that a crowd disperser was heading there way. With that he released the arrow, hitting the ground in front of a smaller group of thugs coming at them.
"Karolina, can you go up there and tell that guy to not dent the roof, I do not need to get the human static ball fixing him up again. I'm having trouble getting the leapfrog to work with me as it is."
Chase said as he looked to Karolina who still had the receiver in her hand.
Karolina waved through the window at Nico, little more than a blur of motion to anyone outside the Leapfrog. Nevertheless, someone threw a brick at the windshield. It rebounded without so much as chipping the heavy glass.
"Sure, Chase," she levered herself out of the chair and grabbed hold of the 'oh-shit' handles spaced out along the walls at regular intervals. Chase's parents knew what they were doing when they'd designed the thing. She hobbled/hopped back to the hatch. She didn't know the 'Frog had a topside escape; she'd always thought the ramp down the back was the only way out.
"HEY!" she shouted up the ladder. She couldn't seem more than a pair of purple-clad shins and ankles. "Try not to ding up our ride! It's our only ticket outta here!"
