On the one hand, they don't support the Boy Scouts and they do support Planned Parenthood and similar orgs. On the other, I despise their accounting, their ethics, and how lots of businesses strongarm their employees into donating ( Read more... )

Yould always take the politely confused approach...

"I just wanted to clarify something about the current donation drive: we received the following email text last month (blah blah no solicitations quote). However, it seems like the United way drive may be contradicting this mailing. is this particular drive exempt from the usual policy?"

I don't care if they don't get their 100% response goal. I'm busy. I have real work to do.

Yeah, I think that's going to be my strategy. I have coworkers here who agree with my principles, but have caved in anyway...

Well sure, around here it's much easier to go with the flow. If I did I'm sure I'd be much higher on the food chain. But I do have to live with myself. ;)
