Horatio...*sigh* he's thinking too much. And now he tries to match two coworkers? Hm, kinda funny, since it's also against regulations like his own "relationship" with Ryan. But if he can't love him back, which is a shame in my eyes *hehe* he should have a try. Is there no way for the two of them? *puppy eyes*

Yes, I remember that episode where Rick Stetler tells Eric that there'S a new policy regarding relationships between coworkers.

I need to check the chronological order - I think we learn about this after Kill Switch but I'm not sure, so this fanfic needs to happen before Stetler spreads the new fraternization (?) rule...

Happy Horatio/Ryan sounds great - I have to think about it, I'm not sure I can pin it down.

I have a feeling that Horatio is, at this point in this fic, blocking himself as if he was unable to move past his previous relationships.

He's also thinking that he knows better what Ryan may need instead of accepting that Ryan may well know exactly what he wants..He chosses an easy way out, maybe even thinking that he's acting in a heroic (self-sacrificing) way.

Yes, Ryan could shift to night watch, and I guess Ryan would go along with it - perhaps Horatio doesn't consider this option right now because he wants to be ablte to keep an eye on Ryan after his "gambling affair" or H wants to stay in control. Or perhaps H isn't comfortable to admit that what he wants to have with Ryan is more than a heaty affair fueled by lust.

There's actually a lot of things and directions a H/Ryan relationship could take and this fic barely scratched the surface...

You're right of course. H could find a way to make it work.

It's motives that can make a pairing like Ryan/Horatio work. I ready an incredible hot pwp H/R a few days ago..but my mind still longed for a bit of explanation as to their motives.

I'm happy you enjoyed this little fic. I'm not sure about a sequel, at least I currently haven't planned one...

H is much too afraid to loose someone, too many ones already taken from him, I guess.
