I saw that logo for the better part of a couple days every time i tried to go to Google maps, after clearing my history in Firefox.
Turns out hitting ctrl+l, typing in "maps", pressing the down arrow once and hitting enter is what's programmed into my motor memory to try to load gmaps. Who knew. So, uhh... (I know it's in my history...) Yeah! This URL! was the most recent thing in my history, and I kept loading it first by mistake. Keeping it the first thing in the search bar matches. Augh. I ended up copy-n-pasting http://maps.google.com into ten new tabs. That'll show Firefox!
