You know this is my lj and I can say what I feel and you know what, BLEH to anyone that disagrees. I have a right to my opinion. I have been hearing a lot lately about the whole legality/non-legalality of gay marriage, and I have tried to say that I support the idea, because I am not sexist, racist, or homophobic. ... we have already "marriage-like-same-gender-relationships". Since here a marriage must be a "civil marriage" to be offical(usually the religious marriage is right after it) in front of the law. We had finally no problems with it(after a real bad discussion in the public, too). Basically the whole thing isn't about love, it's about law and money. It makes homosexual couples even, with heterosexual couples, when it comes to, taxes, ownership and questions of heir.
Basical the concept is a very good one, even if some would like to call it marriage, too. But that is more a matter of the religious communities. :)

Here too. You have the two "ceremonies". One saying I do, and one signing the paper. They even put them togeether as part of one thing. You don't even have to have the religious one. My hubby and I got married in the court house because we just didn't have the money for a church wedding, and ALL of our family was over 1000 miles away anyway.
