Trying to mix? I can tell you what's in most of the major drinks and which liquors are best for drinking straight and which ones to use for mixing.
As a rule, you don't use the more expensive liquors for mixing as you really can't taste the difference when they're all mixed together anyway.
Having a Collin's drink guide or similar other book for mixing drinks on-hand is generally a good idea, plus it lets you know what you need to make different things.
I know you don't drink alcohol, so if I can answer a question or two for you, let me know.
A bit off both really. I'm basically getting ideas (within reason) from people who would be coming over and what they would like to have available at the bar.
I still have to purchase various glasses and other bar type equipment too, so I will pick up some kind of drink guide in the process. At the moment I’ve mostly been getting ideas off of the net at various mixed drink recipe sites. I have a list compiled at home of some of the basics I have seen and what has been recommended so far I’ll post that later. So if there is anything specific you would like to have let me know and I'll add it to the list.
