Character
Name: Kazumi Hagino
Canon: Original Character
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Role: 10th grade.

Background (AU):
Kazumi comes from a somewhat unusual background. While her mother came from a relatively well normal and well off family, her father was the oyabun (leader) of a Yakuza group based in Tokyo near the Akihabara district. Unfortunately, Kazumi would never know her mother, as she had died while giving birth.

Given that a Yakuza group tends to have a mostly male membership, Kazumi found herself in an odd situation as she grew up. While her father doted over her, Yoshito was often kept busy managing the Hagino-gumi. As such, Kazumi was often left to her own devices.

Often being in the presence of men who struck her as 'scary', Kazumi turned towards video games, manga, and anime to entertain herself. Even if the yakuza men wouldn't dare touch a hair on the daughter of the oyabun, they were just not the sort of people that would lend themselves to being good company for a young girl.

There was one, however, that did endear himself to her somewhat as a sort of second father figure: A gaijin (foreign) Yakuza man named Jack Mauss. It was due to his more laid back attitude and generally more easy going nature that allowed him to form a bond with the young girl. Though he didn't quite approve of Kazumi burying herself in the sort of entertainment media that she did, it wasn't really his place to tell somebody else's daughter what to do.

As an unfortunate side effect of being closely related to a Yakuza group, Kazumi found it impossible to make friends at school. With the body guards that often accompanied her, not to mention the general social issues of having anything to do with the Yakuza to begin with, her fellow students just always shied away from her.

Jack Mauss, noticing this and being a close friend of Yoshito, spoke with the oyabun about this issue when he first began to notice it. To begin with, the oyabun hadn't wanted his daughter to be so embroiled in Yakuza politics. Upon discovering the existence of Sophia Academy, he decided that he should send his daughter overseas so that she could enjoy a proper school life.

Personality:
By default, Kazumi is a nice and outgoing girl. However, due to her strangely isolated upbringing in Japan, she has grown somewhat shy and socially awkward. She often speaks rather nervously when talking to somebody she doesn't know, but it's not bad enough that she'll trip over her own words. Assuming she's not speaking to somebody that's just plain weird, anyway.

Having spent a lot of time with anime, manga, and videogames, Kazumi in some ways could be described as eccentric or odd. Most notably, it's not unusual for her to use “game talk” when referring to things in real life, such as “hit points” as an example. It's not that she thinks life is just a game, it's just how her upbringing affected how she speaks.

Despite having grown up mostly around Yakuza tough guys, she does have a girlish side. It may come with the fact that she knows that she looks good, due to the fact that she does play a good share of visual novels. That’s not to say she’s full of herself, just that she’s more or less 'aware'. She’s not shy of dressing up in cute cosplay outfits, either. If she gets close enough to another person, she may attempt to have them dress up as well.

To the people she does get close to, Kazumi can be rather excitable and perhaps even affectionate. She'll want to make sure they're happy as well, though she is likely to try to introduce them to her hobbies if they aren't already fans of anime and the rest.

As for school, Kazumi tends to lean towards the lazy side. This is probably due to the fact that her teachers in Japan were a little intimidated by her connections to the Yakuza to talk to her about her performance. She's more likely to play her games or read manga than do her work, but she won't slack completely and fail outright, at least.

Moira's Gift: None

Other Abilities: While Kazumi has some basic training in defensive martial arts, as well as some katana training, she's not likely to win against people who know what they're doing.

Also, she has a few yakuza bodyguards on call.

“W-we're going to be late!” Kazumi said nervously, eyes widening in realization as she noticed the time displayed on her cellphone.

The driver mumbled an apology, bobbing his head in a sort of awkward bow-like gesture as he continued to drive on towards their destination.

This wasn't good, not good at all. Being late was definitely a bad event flag. What if she ended up with a Bad End? If she loses too many affection points because she was late...

She paused for a moment in thought, though. This was a blind date, after all. For all she knew, she might not like the person at all.

“I hope I didn't end up with a weirdo...” Kazumi mused to herself out loud.

… of course, if it was some kind of creep, her driver would take care of it. Still, the last thing she wanted was to start a reputation as a yakuza girl who sic'd her bodyguards on people who displeased her.

She started to wonder, just what made her agree to a blind date to begin with? She was feeling more nervous the more she thought about it... though, the answer was obvious. Considering the sort of games she played at home, Kazumi had always wondered what it would feel like to be in a romantic relationship.

“... I wonder if she's cute?” she sighed to herself, before noticing the odd look the driver was giving her through the rearview mirror, “... er... he?”

Now that she thought about it, she didn't even know if she was going on a date with a guy or a girl.
