i have had a bit of wine tonight. i am the server for the wine tastings that saffire has every wednesday, and i drank more than usual tonight because they had bad ass wines. and then i stole a bottle of wine. whatever, it wasnt that nice. and they will just think that i opened it at the wine tasting! i also got a bunch of free food, but the ( Read more... )

wow, throwing down some LIT there huh? ballsy move brynne. you're probably the ballsiest person i know. your main problem that i remember was talking yourself out of things that could have been really beneficial and wallowing in the sadness caused by said decisions, which i would say is pretty much directly linked to being too critical of yourself. of course i haven't seen this in quite a while so it could have all dissipated by now. you were also a total badass bitch. let's check on that.

At first, I was hugely disappointed by The Stage Names, but after semi-forced repeated listens, I've grown to like it more and more (which is the hallmark of most great albums, right?). I think that Black Sheep Boy and Black Sheep Boy Appendix are two of the best albums EVER, so I guess I was sort of expecting that the new one was going to have to be pretty boss to measure up. I can't freakin' stand the opening song/single...but I think that's mostly because he says "pull away the IMAX" (ugh, even typing it feels like writing lazy-ass lyrics on a chalkboard with my fingernails ( ... )

I like it okay. It's hard for me to listen to it, because I love Black Sheep Boy so much (I haven't even heard the Appendix yet). You know when you like one thing by a band so much that you don't even want to hear the other stuff? It's like that. But yeah, it's okay. I know he was trying to do something very different from BSB and I think he did a good job with that, it's just, I don't know, not my thing right now.
