haven't really had a very interesting past couple of week, tbh, just lots of uni crap. i learned my lesson (once more) about procrastination: i do it too often, it'll fuck me over, and i probably won't stop myself from doing it again because i am an idiot. essentially making myself sleep-deprived all last weekend, this is what i learned

a) there just... wasn't much to say, really. D: or maybe there was; i'm not used to analysing poems tbh so it was a bit of a struggle.

b) y'see, with Freud, he was a tricksy bastard. when he talked about bisexuality he was talking in terms of gender identity rather than orientation. he said that we're all inherently bisexual, in that we have an innate disposition to masculine and feminine traits/actions. and then he conflated 'masculine' with 'active' and 'feminine' with 'passive' and then said that the terms weren't really helpful in the first place, and after 40yrs of trying to develop his theory of bisexuality he didn't get anywwhere &was basically all "lolz. u are bisexual bc u are." so it was a lot of circular arguments. D: and then people critiquing him misinterpreted 'bisexual' as all these other things (like orientation, for example) and just got it all wrong.
