Word on the freelancing. I got called up to shoot Miracle Fortress the day prior and I was rather frustrated to say, "Um, I have a final exam so...no?" Lots to be said for advance scheduling!

WHEEE! Congratulations! That sounds like an incredible job! Seriously I'm regretting this BSc. :p The admin stuff is never fun but I think it's attached to more jobs than I realize. Even as a vet assistant I did a lot of that.

Hmm, I may have to poke you one day if I ever get off my ass and formulate this imaginary book. -_-
FREE BOOKS?! Say no more! I wonder if it's possible to do some form of post-grad in editorial work? Something to look into!

And HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I hope you get to sit down and breathe aside from having cake and lots of fun stuff like that. :]

yes! freelancing pays well and you can usually choose not to do projects but i couldn't say no to the money so i just had to deal with weird schedules. but no more. :3 my new job is 9-5, Mon-Fri, except it pays about half i made freelancing XD;;

thank you!!

well, my master of publishing degree was a postgrad course so i know it's possible! definitely look into it. to do that though i needed a BA in "a related field", i.e. humanities (i had an English major) so you might need to do something else more related than a BSc if you find a publishing postgrad course over there. i hope that makes sense.

thanks :D no cake, but had a pizza dinner with family and my mum put a candle on a piece of chocolate for me so that was nice.

Yeah I cannot start over. ;) Doing a BAS is possible if I squeeze in another year but even then, that's not a BA. >< I wish I could remember what changed...in grade 12 I toured Harper and Collins, shadowed, and adored all they did. They always gave me free books, haha, Coraline was one of them! 2003, wow. I took every English class my high school had. But in university I was told to "study what I love" and that was not poetry or Shakespeare. So I studied biology and all that jazz. Now I'm going to have a degree that is zero asset to the actual career I'd like! :/ I'll consult a few of the people that were helping me at the time to see what they think. I don't even have to be in editing but the publishing/book industry I think fits me best since I tossed veterinary medicine out the window.

Well that sounds absolutely delicious! :D Candles are one of those ingredients integral for birthday success.

ohh i mistyped, i meant you had to have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (i.e. doesn't have to be a BA, could be a Bachelor's in media and communication or something). but yes, a BSC still probably isn't relevant enough XD

butttttt there are a tonne of ways to get into the industry. if you're serious about it then i suggest volunteering as much as you can, in any industry-related job. if you're keen on book publishing then working in a bookstore will help you A LOT because then you can apply for entry-level marketing/publicity jobs and you're more likely to get them. editing is a bit more tricky and you need more experience, like editing a student magazine/newspaper and/or taking an editing course. if you're more interested in magazine publishing though that's different and i suggest seeing if you can write articles that complement the concert photos you take.

hee. thanks :3

well they started to grow about a 1.5 years ago and sort of stopped midway and then they started to give me trouble end of last year, then really painful on and off at the beginning of this year. they didn't impact any of my other teeth, luckily, and the surgery was really good and i had barely any downtime. :]

thank you!
