I'm scared out of my mind and I can't do anything about it.

Ok... everything was pretty much fine until last night. As you know, a few days ago, Nate was having intestinal problems that we figured were gas and some diarrhea, right? That's how it stayed pretty much up until yesterday evening, around 9:00 ( Read more... )

*hugs* Try not to worry too much - if he can still sit upright, at least, he's not too badly off yet. Best of luck to both of you.

I had to have my appendix out a few years back.. it got really bad, really infected. I told the doctors I wanted to keep it but by the time I came to it was already in one of those bio-waste bins.

I'd have to say probably the worst part about his condition at the moment would be his apparent extreme discomfort in the hospital - you can survive your appendix bursting and the resulting infection. It won't be comfortable by a long shot, but it's only lethal without modern health care.

I, er.. well, I woke up one morning and vomited for four straight hours, and then flopped around the house for a while. The doctors had trouble determining whether or not it was appendicitis with me, too - Dad tells me it's pretty tough to diagnose in most cases, and I'm inclined to believe him as he's pretty good at what he does. Had to have a lot of blood drawn too, et cetera, but by that point I was too ill to care.

He should be fine.

Too Much Dairy? poisonedacid August 20 2004, 08:46:08 UTC
I remember the samew thing happened to me a while back when I was little. The doctors couldn't figure out anything, and the pain would come and go randomly. They thought it was a cyst, but it turned out that I was lactose intolerant. I have no idea if this is the case for him, but I was sick throwing up, and had really bad pains in my stomach that were sharp and nothing helped them. We went to the doctors and they couldn't figure out what was wrong until someone said to stay away from dairy for a month, and then come back. I did just that, and ever since, I have had no pains. Perhaps you should ask about this with the doctors,. It might not be true, but it's worth a shot for him to stop being in pain like that. I mean, he eats a decent amount of dairy, I'm sure, right?

He hasn't really been throwing up or anything. He's only felt nauseous when the pain strikes, and that's likely from the intensity of it.

Yeah, that's probably what was wrong with me. The pain was soo intense. However, I was just making the suggestion because it was what happened to me. I mean, being told in 6th grade you might have cancer was a big shocker before they discovered I couldn't handle dairy....O_O

Wow, this is spooky. I mean, I myself have had stomach problems as of lately, and it all started when I ate a sandwich with garlic bologna. I mean, I would have a slight pressurized discomfort in the pit of my stomach, but only when I put pressure on it. When I lay on my back, I get this horrendous pain in my stomach, some in the front, but most of it triggered toward my back, where my kidneys are. >_< And y'know, you'd figure my dad and stepmom... having the health experience they posses, would help me. Nope! :D? They give me that non-chalant dodge of just "Oh it's just gas" and told me to do was drink baking soda water. >:( Buh... doctors ( ... )
