Drama: Drive of Life
Doramaaaa.
I FINALLY finished The Drive of Life.
Omfg. 60 episodes. I actually went through 60 episodes...in such a short amount of time that I'm scaring myself O___O
- I quite like the English title...The Drive of Life. Meaningful and fits well with the drama.
- Great casting (with exceptions of some xDD;; for srs Toby Leung has connections that's why. She so did not deserve to be in this huge production drama for a newbie. She's improved in acting, but she still annoys me somewhat).
- SUCKY ENDING. Homfg. I went through 60 fudging eps to get an ending like that?! It wasn't even exciting or anything. I felt like...NOTHING from the last episode. SUCH a weak last episode. Disappointing how things ended.
- As always, TVB loses with their endings. A lot of times they never know a good way to end their series without making them feel so rushed or like...memorable (except for some series which had decent endings).
- Favourite character? Definitely Damian Lau's character. What I like about TVB series is that...all the actors & actresses are like one huge family. They act together &/or known each other long enough to know how to work well with one another. Their acting were wonderful, mostly the moments between Damian & Raymond's father-son relationship.
Damian & Michael's brother relationship, too!! Where they were in Canada and had that huge fight between brothers outside. Omg very memorable scene. It made me cry, ah ha ha.
- Least favourite character? LOL Toby Leung prz. Or it's more like her, not her character xDD;;;
I would've loved Leila to be in her place better. Because I find Leila suiting this character very well. It's a series that takes place in a 10-year range. Leila has a cute baby-face so she can easily look young; then in 10 years she would be capable of looking very mature and beautiful, too. SDLSLDF LEILAAA!!
- Most hated character? So easy to guess. Hands down, Joe Ma's character. Even though there were many villains in this series, but at least with the other man, you already know that he's an enemy and to avoid him. But Joe's character...so evil to the core I don't even know where to begin. TVB is good at creating characters like these...those that manipulate people's thoughts & feelings to get what they want. I can say for certain that these people...I hate so very much. Ah, a bit harsh right? But I honestly hate the guts of people that manipulates others' feelings and stab them when they least suspect it. It is despicable and the ending that he got was TOO easy on him. I am so cruel, LOL. But well...at least he still loves & cherishes his wife & baby and know to stop right at the edge of the cliff. Some people...never learn...because they never had anyone confront them for their mistakes.
- Most pitiful character? Definitely Jessica's character. They say love is blind, and she surely was blinded by love. Cannot blame her. Though I still cannot think of any reason why she could love someone like Joe's character. :P Well...he loves her lots so I guess that's a good enough reason...?
- Character I want to smack? LOL every one of them. They all made me want to smack them at least once at different moments, but they're all forgiven again after making me suffer through 60 eps to see them go through all of the hardships.
- Favourite scene(s)? Any with Raymond in it. Ha ha ha. Okay no jk. But I found myself enjoying most the scenes with Raymond. ^^ OMGAWD HIS INSERT SONG WINS SO MUCH. I teared up at the Charmaine x Raymond x Myolie scene. AAAAHHH RAYMOND CRYING AND HURTING AND THE INSERT SONG PLAYING AND CHARMAINE & MYOLIE BOTH IN PAIN 'CAUSE OF HIM. Loved the scene XD;;
- Too bad the series didn't reach its ideal ratings. Even though the ratings were good, but not quite ideal for such a big production, no? Probably because some parts seemed a bit lame-ish/draggy and it's 60 eps...plus there were dubbings, so that's probably why ratings were a little lower than expected.
And that's all. xD I just HAD to write an entry on this series, after they made me suffer through all that drama I should at least have the right to complain about some things. xDD
