Report: Ashita no Joe filming (April 24, 2010: Part 2)
So many reports today! I almost died translating them..... Female extras are MUCH wordier than their male counterparts.. XDD
These are really detailed and awesome!!!! The 5th one was my favourite, Yamapi is the cutest thing ever! Please let me know if there's anything that doesn't make sense or there are a bunch of typos. =D
1. Kagawa-san calls Pi Yamapi too.
Pi's focused expression and every action he made while seriously acting was very cool.
The occasional smiles are really cute.
Kagawa-san creates the atmosphere at the site, and told jokes to get the extras to be energetic and high
Even when he was done his own scenes, he still stayed at the site and passionately directed the boxing scenes, like a director
How's this? He kept giving suggestions, and would often appear beside Pi to direct him.
It made me think "Why is he still here?", and felt that he is really a passionate person.
When the make up artist put Vaseline on Pi, he stood beside him and said, I can help with his make up too.
He told the extras, "Let's work hard together" "Let's say together, 'Yamapi, ganbatte!'"
The director of the boxing scenes was very prepared. Whenever Pi finished a scene and was checking, he would say to Pi, "Kill him with your eyes"
It's tough filming sport related themes.. When it was finally OK, he applauded and bowed to Pi
There were two women taking photos at the site, I'm not sure if these will be published in a magazine
I wasn't really expecting a lot from Joe, but Pi is just too handsome and now I really want to watch
Tussled hair, and intense eyes looking at people from behind the bangs covering his face, incredibly cool.
2. Pi wore boxing gloves the whole time, even when he was drinking tea he wore the gloves
Like Doraemon's hands, really cute!

Amazing amazing amazing!!! lol
Yamashita Tomohisa is a god!
This is the first time I've watched Pi's half naked body for 7 hours straight
His hair was like the short black hair during the Weeeek period
His bangs are very long!!
His muscles are so attractive!!!
But as the rumours said, his face became thinner.. He's lost weight..(*^_;*)
Because he's coughing so much, I wondered if he had a cold
He really works too hard, I almost wanted to cry(;Д;)
Even after filming was done, he still practiced in a room on the second floor
Even though he must have been really tired
Really he works so hard
Hope he doesn't push himself too hard
Filming is really tiring
If the timing and angle are even slightly different, it has to be filmed again and again
This is tiring both physically and psychologically(′_ゝ`)
4. Kagawa Teruyuki-san who plays Danpei is really kind
The person who played Joe's opponent was very nice too
Pi who played Yabuki, everything about him was mesmerizing
Seeing his thin face, my heart tightened a little
But seeing that thin, lowered face of Yamapi, that is seriously the real Yabuki Joe
I was really moved
His pecs and abs were beautiful
I feel like I'm drunk~
And Kagawa Teruyuki-san is really really kind
The mood maker of the filming site
Pi received direction from the trainer and from Kagawa Teruyuki-san
The filming site was filled with a kind of atmosphere that said "Let's create a great piece of work together
"
This kind of atmosphere, I felt like I received something good from it
Thinking like this I was really happy
5. Today, I should say yesterday...
It was such a luxurious experience it feels like a dream
If I write about the content of the filming I'll give away the plot
So I'll talk briefly about Pi-chan
First is the hairstyle everyone is concerned about
At first the bangs looked very thick
But no problem, no need to worry at all~
The amount of hair tucked behind his ear was even more than during the Kurosagi movie
It has a thick heavy feel of the Showa period hairstyles
During the match, he would lower his head slightly, and the bangs would drape down and lightly wave around~~ So cute
The left side of the hair was cut slightly shorter, a little thinner, this kind of unbalanced feeling, I've become used to it too
This hairstyle is really beautiful when it's wet~
Saying this, no matter what it has the cuteness of a youth
I can't take it~
Pi-s hair stylist kept following him everywhere
Whenever Pi's hair became a little messy he would immediately fix it
His hair was made like it was drenched with perspiration
Spreading the perspiration on his back and shoulders evenly..
Really makes me jealous!
Danpei-san (Kagawa Teruyuki) was really good at controlling the atmosphere
He took care of everything regarding Joe and regarding Pi
After Pi finished eating his bento and came back out, and the filming site was aroused, he said, "I won't let anyone even touch a finger of Yamapi!"
Pi was spoiled again~
And, and
Muscles~ Completely displayed, extremely beautiful
Even though it was beautiful in the past too, the continual training in addition to that, now it has even more of a strong and firm feeling
The muscles on his back were defined, especially at his shoulder blade and the end of his arms, I've become mesmerized by the lines of his muscles
His pecs as well, now I can see the subtle forms of the muscles
This is really beautiful too
And, Pi wearing the red boxing gloves and wearing blue boxing shorts
Immediately brought out my maternal instincts~ (lol)
Because when Pi is wearing the gloves, he can't do anything for himself~
He was constantly in a state of being helped by others
People helped him to hold his drink, helped him take off his shoes and wipe his feet
Needing help for everything was really cute...
The back of his neck seemed to be itchy, and he tried to scratch it with the big red boxing glove, really incredibly cute
I wanted to help him scratch~
Even wearing the gloves, he would still unconsciously brush at his bangs, really really just too cute~
The trainer asked him to use the gloves, to let his body remember the feeling of impact from the punches
But I didn't know if it was because of the strain from the continuous matches, his body became a little red
A feeling of a strong man.
Filming continued for a long time, until 9pm at night
Seeing Pi lie down in the boxing ring
I want to put a blanket on him~ Beginning some strange fantasies
As Pi lay down, and two staff members were fanning him, is this the prince from somewhere? This kind of feeling
Pi-chan has a cold, during the filming he coughed lightly several times
Is it a slightly troublesome upper airway infection?
Hope he can recover soon.
Without a script, wearing a mouth guard and playing Joe
Sometimes when the staff asked him something, we can hear him answer, "It's okay"
During the busy filming, I saw his relaxed smile.
And then, without disappointment
He came to greet everyone without a mic
And it was right in front of us!
"Thank you everyone for being here for such a long time!"
Is that what he said? It's like my brain was fried, don't really remember
Pi-chan, who continually expressed his feelings of gratitude to everyone,
This Pi-chan, I wholeheartedly want to continue supporting him.
Pi-chan must be really tired, beginning so early in the morning and ending so late at night
Get some good rest today
Work hard at the filming tomorrow too
We extras supported you with all our might!
"Joe, go for it!" "Joe ganbatte!"
Is it okay for women in the Showa period to cheer this loudly..? I wondered about this
Is it to demonstrate the extent of support for him?
The male extras who were over 30 also worked really hard, how do I say it, I'm really happy too.

6. From a middle aged male extra:
During the filming of a scenes in a little room, I came before Pi's eyes
"I'll do this action now" he used keigo (polite speech) and treated me, a mere extra, with care (A/N: Pi said "boku", polite form for "I")
Like I said before, when I was going home, and coincidentally met Pi, "Otsukaresama deshita (You've worked hard)", hearing this from Pi
A memory that will be precious all my life.
7. After the observers were ready and standing by, filming began at 3pm
Yamashita Tomohisa turned into Yabuki Joe and appeared
Still as beautiful as always
The kira kira feeling is really too dazzling
Aizawa's face is completely gone
Joe's hairstyle, which I had been worrying about, really surpassed what I had imagined
, and made Yamashita-kun's small face seem even smaller
And then, the amazing beautiful body
The six pac of his abs were of course amazing,
But I was really attracted to his beautiful shoulder blades
Really too beautiful, Yamashita Joe
So perfect, Yamashita Joe
The filming, first there were rehearsals, then the real thing --> until the director said OK, the same scene was repeated
There was one time even after he said OK, it was filmed a few more times until he was satisfied
"Filming is really tough", I really felt this
But that is the passion of the actors and staff to "want to create a great piece of work"
So, every time it was OK, the observers would applaud with all their might
So filming was continued this way, completely without time for rest, until dinner time
Because we were sitting in the stands with no backrests, my back was aching.. Sitting so long made my feet really cold, it felt terrible. But watching Yamashita-kun work hard to become Joe, any discomfort was blown away
Compared to the concerts where you stay in the same place, compared to back ache and cold, the most important thing was the feeling of happiness
And then it was 7pm
We had 30 minutes to eat and rest
The extras all received bentos, and were eating thankfully
But, during this time, Yamashita-kun was having make up put on him in preparation for the next scene
And the boxing gloves he took off just before the break, he put them back on again
So I don't think he had any time to rest at all
And, it was very likely that he updated his nikki during this time
(Nikki came out at 7:50)
For the fans, even his extremely brief, precious break time was used to update his nikki
Thinking about his fans to this extent
I was really moved
After the break, filming continued. The expected finish time was 9pm, but there was still a bit that was not done and filming was extended a bit longer
Because the time was set before, the staff said, "it's okay if you need to go home, but as much as possible, I hope that more people can stay, it would really help us."
Then Yamashita-kun used his mic and said
"Everyone who came today, thank you very much. But the people who are busy, it's okay to go home"
Said this to the extras considerately
Some of the extras went home, but more than half stayed
Filming continued
The happy thing here was, because there were spaces close to the boxing ring that were empty. my son and I were called to sit over there, really close to Yamashita-kun
When a certain scene was completed, Kagawa Teruyuki said to the extras, "Please give a round of applause to Yamapi who has worked so hard!"
Yamashita-kun then bowed to the extras thankfully
During the filming, the extras aren't allowed to do anything out of place, so having interaction with him this way made me incredibly happy
The director sat very close to us, Yamashita-kun would come over from time to time
The closest was within about 2-3 feet!
I was working really hard to not let myself faint~
