I can only access a few websites from work- one of which is sweet, sweet Wikipedia, of course...When trawling through their blurb on Hegel I stumbled across this little slice of tongue-lashing written by our dear Euro-Buddhist himself, Arthur Schopenhauer, when describing Hegel's...errrmm...."overdeveloped" writing style:

Sociology, tentatively....Though my B.A. is in Japanese linguistics, it's become an empty relic until I eventually get my ass back to Osaka to resharpen my tongue and take my proficiency exams..

.....I don't really have any illlusions about the soc and philosophy study on offer here in Florida- I'm hoping it will work as a stimulant to get me learning(...and writing) more about at least my own radical tastes...

...by the way, your West Side Story remix is one of my all time fave LJ posts- even if just for the mental image of a greaser Epictetus brandishing a switchblade(..in a very solemn manner, of course...)....

I used to love jitte 'till I learned they were primarily weapons used by Edo-era pigs to subdue high-class suspects without hurting them....Don't tell Sodom.

That's ok. Sodom has some katanas if you pick him with x-ism. He won't know the difference.

I'll be home in April for about a week before we deploy out to sea. After that, I don't know. Probably in OCT or NOV.
