RUMI!!! A leatherbound hardback and a silk ribbon bookmark and an incubus (that was the only part that threw me, btw. Succubi are female demons, incubi are the males. Hecubi are the genderbenders) and frottage and RUMI!!! Did I mention the Rumi?

*koff*

Poetry whore here. Hi, pleased to meet you. *G*

Oh, this was lovely. Just...yes. So yummy. And you even worked in the poignancy of how this might impact Tsuzuki once he guesses. Pardon me while I melt into a little puddle of happy goo.

As for guessing your identity...Renet, is that you, sugar? Granted, you might have been asking about Hisoka's curse marks on someone else's behalf, or possibly his curse marks will figure into more than one story on this community, but you're my first guess.

Yep, you're right. At the time I asked the question, it was a minor detail, and then the discussion turned it into something almost a plot point-- otherwise I would've been smart and posted under friends lock!

But I am so, so glad you loved it-- it was a hell of a struggle, actually, though I was very satisfied when I was done-- and there's something lovely about how we got to write rare Hisoka pairings for each other. XD

Credit should go to my betas as well-- b_hallward and threewalls did the heavy lifting (and MC should get extra credit as I think bits of it were painful for her!), and they were just astonishingly good-- caught little things and larger ones that really made a difference. Then I had angstymcgoth do cleanup at the end.

I'm glad you didn't post under flock, because I suspect you might have spawned a plotbunny or three for other people with that discussion. *G*

I was tickled to find out we got to write for each other. That's happened to me with a few other ficswap challenges, and it's always a little extra thrill to find out about it.

Betas, man. I love mine so very much.

I hope I did. We all had some fun speculation, at least! XD

Yeah. It's...more like a personal gift for some reason.

There is not much in this world that is hotter than Tatsumi and poetry *wibble*. Great story!

Thank you! I was so exited I could work it in in a way that wasn't too much sap.

I love your Hisoka so, so much. And this story as a whole, and so many of its details, like the way the incubus picks up the general mistaken impression of the curse marks from Tatsumi, and the way we can tell everything about Tatsumi's fondness for Watari from the one comment he makes, and, of course, the poetry.

But most of all, I love this: "He was gentle. Don't be. Don't." It seems so utterly right, and so right that in the end, being treated as though he might break would be the last thing that Hisoka would need.

Thank you so very much! I hadn't written any 'real sex' from Hisoka's POV before, though I'd toyed with it, and I found he was quite emphatic about what he did and didn't want.

I think I've already gushed to you about this story. But I don't mind repeating myself if you don't mind hearing it again.

This killed me, hit me right here... *points to heart* Such a beautiful story and focusing on my favorite pairing....double guh. I've read this four times now and still can't seem to get enough. *loves you*

I'm going to have to join everyone else and express my extreme love for the "Don't be gentle". *sighs in utter joy* Oh, how I love me a fierce Hisoka.

And it's a case-fic! It's so wonderful when people can actually weave cases and plots and actions into their fics, instead of just focusing on the characters' relationship. The tension between Hisoka and Tatsumi over Nagare is very well done and so believable. I love how Hisoka doesn't like his own voice, and Watari's advice, and Tsuzuki's "deep hunger" and the sex is so hot and wow. Great story!

Also: the poetry. I think I'm going to have to buy a volume of Rumi now, that's all I have to say about it. Such a perfect choice.

Well, it's pretty light casefic. But still, I'm glad you enjoyed so much, and that the sex was hot!

I went crazy trying to find a Japanese poem, or any poem, about 'strength like a reed.' And then I kind of threw in the towel and went searching on homoerotic love poems, and ended up on this terribly poorly-designed website with Famous Gay People Through the Ages and found that poem and damn, I had a winner there. XD
