First, a brief intro. I'm Yami. I like anime, toku, manga, video games, cartoons, shows aimed at children...you name it. I'm not as into anime and manga as I used to be, and instead my soul is slowly being consumed by Kamen Rider. I'm also a shameless dork and I REVEL IN MY FANDOMS. And by revel I mean have lots of ridiculous ideas and enjoy reading those of others.
I love a lot of characters. I mean A LOT. Many of my favorite characters tend to be villains and antagonists instead of heroes and sidekicks. My favorite characters are not usually the ones that I relate to the most, and are also often probably people that I would not get along with well if they were real. :|a
The vast number of characters I like is probably why I have a bunch of ships I support. I will say, though, that a lot of my ships tend to be based more on subtext...I like thinking about how a relationship could blossom from what's given in canon, rather than just take two characters and write about them simply because canon said so. (T-This varies with the canon, though! It depends on how the characters and their canon relationship is portrayed.) Because of this...I ship. I ship a lot.
What I'm really into changes as I discover new things. What I do for different fandoms varies. Fanfic, art, and meta are the heart of fandom for me, fanfic more than anything. It's always what I'll seek out first and what I'm most likely to contribute. Also, I know how giddy I get when I'm able to find someone else's fanworks, and can only hope that someone else feels that when they find mine!

Darkwing Duck:
Short Summary: I...okay, I grew up with Darkwing. I was ecstatic when some of the episodes were released on DVD in my adulthood. I am collecting the comic as it comes out. I just really love this show, okay. ._. It's funny, I don't get quite the same enjoyment from watching say, Rescue Rangers, as I do when I rewatch episodes of this. ♥

Disliked Ships: ...I can't think of any that I really can't stand. Mostly, outside of those two, I'm rather :| about the others.
Dragonball Z:
Short Summary: Dragonball Z was the first anime I ever started watching, way back when it was on Toonami. Suffice to say, because nostalgia is incredibly important to me, and me being the dork I am, I own all of Dragonball Z on DVD. DBZ was one of the first fandoms that I went out in search of fics for, even! Also, Piccolo and Gohan have my favorite relationship and are adorable.

Disliked Ships: ...actually not much! Really the way a fic is written is more likely to put me off than the actual pairing when it comes to this series. I-I guess I'm not really much for incest with these guys.
Generator Gawl:
Short Summary: NOT ENOUGH PEOPLE KNOW THIS ANIME. ;o; I bought Generator Gawl on a whim years ago, because I had seen a trailer for it on another DVD, and basically I fell in love with the opening. The art's not that great (the DVD case LIES), but...I love the story. I have been falling for it all over again lately as I started reading the novel, Shiratori no Uta, and realized that Generator Gawl and Kamen Rider Den-O have a TON of parallels. Also, someday, I am going to translate the manga and the novel. The sheer difficulty of finding either gives me a sad. I also own the pretty much defunct generatorgawl community.

Gyakuten Saiban/Ace Attorney:
Short Summary: I. Love. This. Series. I have played all of the games available so far, and yes, I like some games better than others, but overall...nngh. This series is where I discovered Japanese art sites, and started gathering it in a huge mess of taking up room on my computer. Also, I'm pretty sure I have more GS doujins than...any other series. :|a
♥ Miles Edgeworth, Desiree Delite, Simon Blackquill, Athena Cykes, Apollo Justice, Phoenix Wright, Maya Fey, Klavier Gavin.
Primary Ships: Phoenix/Edgeworth, Franziska/Maya, Klavier/Apollo, Ron/Desiree, Diego/Mia.
Disliked Ships: Phoenix/Maya, Edgeworth/Franziska. Admittedly, I usually do not care for best friend-ships, so I really can't feel Phoenix/Maya. Not to mention, they really do strike me as more of a...familial relationship. And Edgeworth and Franziska were raised as siblings...I usually don't go for incest, and this is such a case.
Kamen Rider Den-O:
Short Summary: Okay, so Den-O was the first piece of toku that I ever watched, at 'gelli's recommendation. And ohmygod, I love it so much. It is so much silliness and antics balanced with character bonds that are so strong despite everything and I just. I love pretty much EVERYONE in this series and how they interact with each other.

Disliked Ships: Questions of selfcest with the Imajin aside, I'm...not really into any incestuous possibilities in this series. D:
Kamen Rider Hibiki:
Short Summary: Second toku series that I ever started watching, for two reasons. One was ellipsesbandit's Den-O fic that was crossed over with Hibiki, and two was because I found out that Nakamura Yuuichi was in it, and that pretty much closed to the deal. I'm still not sure what I think about how the latter part of the series was handled, but hey, what are you going to do. I still love it though. Also, the movie is probably one of my favorite things, because I love love love Kabuki.

Kamen Rider Kabuto:
Short Summary: Fourth Kamen Rider series I watched, arbitrarily chosen from all the ones I still need to watch. And oh my god, you guys, I love this show kind of a lot. It's also the first KR that really and truly slapped me in the face with a pairing I loved so early in the series. Also, there are precious few characters that I don't have absolute love for.
♥ Kagami Arata, Kamishiro Tsurugi, Tendou Souji, Kazama Daisuke, Gon, Mimic!Tendou, Kusakabe Hiyori, Tendou Juka, Jiiya, Misaki, Yaguruma Sou, the zecters, I KIND OF LOVE PRETTY MUCH EVERYONE. D:

Disliked Ships: ...er. Not really anything. Some are kind of creepy though. XD;
Persona 4:
Short Summary: My brother played this game before I did, and as a result, I ended up seeing various parts of the game as he played through it (multiple times). I finally decided to pick it up as well, and oh man. ♥ I love the sheer amount of stuff going on in this game, and all the options. Also Kanji forever.

Petshop of Horrors:
Short Summary: I first saw the anime version of this years ago. Then I discovered there was a manga, which I started collecting before it Tokyopop started publishing it in English. I spent a lot of time comparing Tokyopop's translations to my own. :Db I mean, god, there was one point where I couldn't remember if I was thinking of their translation or my translation of something before I realized hey, they haven't even translated this issue yet. Fond translation memories aside, Petshop of Horrors is definitely my favorite manga. ♥

Portal:
Short Summary: When I first played the first Portal years ago, it never occurred to me to look for fanfiction. After I played Portal 2, however, I realized that I wanted fanfic for it. :|a Basically I really love both of these games quite a lot.

Short Summary: My mom had been watching Psych and Monk for a while, and eventually, she got me to start sitting down with her every time it was on to watch it. I'm not complaining. ♥ Psych's important to me because it's one of few shows that we share. :3

Soul Eater:
Short Summary: My brother watched Soul Eater before me, and recommended it. Eventually, I watched it too, and oh my goodness. The fact that I didn't like the anime's ending aside, it was marvelous. I'm working on reading the manga because differences.

Short Summary: THIS GAME IS PROBABLY MY FAVORITE GAME OF ALL TIME, CLICHES AND ALL. I have played through it multiple times, and have not gotten tired of it yet. Also, I RPed Zelos for quite some time (which incidentally, ended up getting me a lot more attached to the character than I ever was, hurr). I can tell you just about everything about him. .______.

Disliked Ships: RAPIST!ZELOS. >[ I swear to god, I will try to kill you with my brain over the internet. Same with any of the rest of the main cast, because oh my god, go back and play the game/read the manga and get a grip on them.
Team Fortress 2:
Short Summary: I didn't actually start playing this game until like three years after I bought it, and I am ashamed of that. Maybe I'd be better at it if I would have started playing it years ago. :< Either way, I do love the game and the characters a lot. And I'm going to get better, come hell or high water. And apparently write fanfics along the way.
♥ ...I like pretty much all of the nine classes, no lie. Slight favoritism for Soldier, Sniper, Engineer, and Heavy. Especially Soldier, I love him so hard. ♥

Disliked Ships: ...eh, to be honest? I can go with pretty much any ship as long as it's well-written. I don't really tend to for pairings involving Scout or Medic though, pfft.
White Collar:
Short Summary: My mom and I have been watching this show since it started, and I started sifting through fanfics, because my mom and I don't really talk about pairings. XD I really enjoy the show, although I'm not sure how I feel about the way the second season ended. D: You guys had better have something good come next season.

Yuu Yuu Hakusho:
Short Summary: Another series that I got really into while it was on Toonami. Despite the fact that some of the pronunciations make me cringe, I will probably always prefer watching the dub of this. I mean, I am familiar with their Japanese voices; I have like 10 million YYH songs to prove it. But. I just love the dub, okay. .____. Also, fights in this didn't take 20 episodes like they did in DBZ! Long fights stretched out for maybe two or three! :D

(Fandoms being down here doesn't really mean that I don't love them anymore...rather, it means I am far less inclined to actively seek anything out from them. However, I'm not avoidant, either! If there's good fic/art/meta, you can be assured I'll be interested.)
Sonic the Hedgehog:
Short Summary: Sonic the Hedgehog is one of the earliest memories I have of gaming (the Intellivision we had not withstanding). One of my friends got a Genesis at her birthday party, that was the first time I played Sonic the Hedgehog. Later, we got a Genesis of our own, and I made my way through Sonic the Hedgehog 2. (Yeah, that's right, I was a Genesis kid. Fuck all you SNES people. [Kidding! ilu really.]) We had Sonic 3 as well, and so I...played those a lot. Basically, I got excited any time I saw a new Sonic game later, and have played pretty much everything from Sonic Adventure to...some of the recent things. Admittedly, I've been less and less interested in Sonic games in recent years, because...they've lost a lot of Sonic feel. :< The Sonic Adventure games are some of my favorites, though. Also, I watched the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, in all of its ridiculousness. Someday, I will get around to watching SatAM.

Weiß Kreuz:
Short Summary: It's been a long time since I've really been into this fandom, and even longer since I've actually seen the show. Which...I should do something about someday. When I'm not being taken over by toku. Still though, I enjoyed this series. Even if all I can actually remember are the dub outtakes. :|a Lady, put your pants on!

Yu-Gi-Oh!:
Short Summary: After DBZ, Yu-Gi-Oh! was the next fandom that I got into via fanfics. Yu-Gi-Oh! is actually very special to me, because it's the reason that I was able to move past the homophobia that had been ingrained in me. When I was looking for Yu-Gi-Oh! fics, I came upon a Seto/Yugi one. I was disgusted, but it was like a train wreck...I couldn't stop reading. I continued reading other fics with m/m pairings, and gradually, I lost the disgust for them, coming to enjoy them. Admittedly, it was a long while before I could give the same courtesy to f/f pairings...but I got there! So in a way, Yu-Gi-Oh!'s kind of responsible for helping me come to terms with my sexual preferences.

Short Summary: I...okay, I grew up with Darkwing. I was ecstatic when some of the episodes were released on DVD in my adulthood. I am collecting the comic as it comes out. I just really love this show, okay. ._. It's funny, I don't get quite the same enjoyment from watching say, Rescue Rangers, as I do when I rewatch episodes of this. ♥

DBZ was one of the first fandoms that I went out in search of fics for, even! Also, Piccolo and Gohan have my favorite relationship and are adorable.

Short Summary: NOT ENOUGH PEOPLE KNOW THIS ANIME. ;o; I bought Generator Gawl on a whim years ago, because I had seen a trailer for it on another DVD, and basically I fell in love with the opening. The art's not that great (the DVD case LIES), but...I love the story. I have been falling for it all over again lately as I started reading the novel, Shiratori no Uta, and realized that Generator Gawl and Kamen Rider Den-O have a TON of parallels. Also, someday, I am going to translate the manga and the novel. The sheer difficulty of finding either gives me a sad. I also own the pretty much defunct generatorgawl community.

Short Summary: Okay, so Den-O was the first piece of toku that I ever watched, at 'gelli's recommendation. And ohmygod, I love it so much. It is so much silliness and antics balanced with character bonds that are so strong despite everything and I just. I love pretty much EVERYONE in this series and how they interact with each other.

Short Summary: Second toku series that I ever started watching, for two reasons. One was ellipsesbandit's Den-O fic that was crossed over with Hibiki, and two was because I found out that Nakamura Yuuichi was in it, and that pretty much closed to the deal. I'm still not sure what I think about how the latter part of the series was handled, but hey, what are you going to do. I still love it though. Also, the movie is probably one of my favorite things, because I love love love Kabuki.

Short Summary: I first saw the anime version of this years ago. Then I discovered there was a manga, which I started collecting before it Tokyopop started publishing it in English. I spent a lot of time comparing Tokyopop's translations to my own. :Db I mean, god, there was one point where I couldn't remember if I was thinking of their translation or my translation of something before I realized hey, they haven't even translated this issue yet. Fond translation memories aside, Petshop of Horrors is definitely my favorite manga. ♥

Short Summary: I didn't actually start playing this game until like three years after I bought it, and I am ashamed of that. Maybe I'd be better at it if I would have started playing it years ago. :< Either way, I do love the game and the characters a lot. And I'm going to get better, come hell or high water. And apparently write fanfics along the way.
♥ ...I like pretty much all of the nine classes, no lie. Slight favoritism for Soldier, Sniper, Engineer, and Heavy. Especially Soldier, I love him so hard. ♥

I mean, I am familiar with their Japanese voices; I have like 10 million YYH songs to prove it. But. I just love the dub, okay. .____. Also, fights in this didn't take 20 episodes like they did in DBZ! Long fights stretched out for maybe two or three! :D

Sonic the Hedgehog:
Short Summary: Sonic the Hedgehog is one of the earliest memories I have of gaming (the Intellivision we had not withstanding). One of my friends got a Genesis at her birthday party, that was the first time I played Sonic the Hedgehog. Later, we got a Genesis of our own, and I made my way through Sonic the Hedgehog 2. (Yeah, that's right, I was a Genesis kid. Fuck all you SNES people. [Kidding! ilu really.]) We had Sonic 3 as well, and so I...played those a lot. Basically, I got excited any time I saw a new Sonic game later, and have played pretty much everything from Sonic Adventure to...some of the recent things. Admittedly, I've been less and less interested in Sonic games in recent years, because...they've lost a lot of Sonic feel. :< The Sonic Adventure games are some of my favorites, though. Also, I watched the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, in all of its ridiculousness. Someday, I will get around to watching SatAM.

Short Summary: After DBZ, Yu-Gi-Oh! was the next fandom that I got into via fanfics. Yu-Gi-Oh! is actually very special to me, because it's the reason that I was able to move past the homophobia that had been ingrained in me. When I was looking for Yu-Gi-Oh! fics, I came upon a Seto/Yugi one. I was disgusted, but it was like a train wreck...I couldn't stop reading. I continued reading other fics with m/m pairings, and gradually, I lost the disgust for them, coming to enjoy them. Admittedly, it was a long while before I could give the same courtesy to f/f pairings...but I got there! So in a way, Yu-Gi-Oh!'s kind of responsible for helping me come to terms with my sexual preferences.
